Good lord. Perhaps it's just a nasty rumor. If it's true...wow, how the mighty have fallen. I know the Cornhuskers have been down for a while, but this is bad. They wanted to get out of playing OU and play some MAC team or Old Dominion instead (that's the word). That's embarrassing. I never thought there would be a day in which a blue blood like Nebraska didn't want to play another blue blood. I'm an OU fan, but I don't like that Nebraska is no longer a contender. I've always admired and respected them. I hope they right the ship.
Last 5 seasons:
2016 (9-4)
2017 (4-8)
2018 (4-8)
2019 (5-7)
2020 (3-5)
That's 32 losses in the last 5 years. Under Tom Osbourne (1973-97) they lost 49...in 25 SEASONS! A different era indeed.
