Pats sign WR Damiere Byrd. Played for AZ last season most probably didn't know that? A speed guy who ran a 4.28 40 in 2015. Caught 32 balls last year, for 359 yards and a TD.
No details yet but I hope it's for one year and a bag of peanuts?

Guess BB feels like now he may have a QB who can throw the long ball?

Many ways to do this but, press the control key (marked CTRL on your keyboard) and the + key. Keep doing it until the letters are big enough to read without "old fart" lenses. "Ctrl -"will return it to normal size (as many times as you pressed ctrl +).

So I did a very quick dive on Byrd and here’s what I see

Pros:
Dude is FAST. He ran track as well as played football at South Carolina and it translates to the field. Might be the fastest receiver we’ll ever see in a Pats uni.

His pro day testing numbers, even when accounting for the home field bump, were phenomenal. 4.28 40, just over 4.0 shuttle, well under 7.0 cone, 42”’vertical. Those are some sickly explosive numbers.

Seems more willing to fight for contested balls down the field than Dorsett ever was.

Has experience returning kicks and punts.

Dude has scrapped and clawed to make his way in the league for 5 years. Undrafted, practice squad, back of the roster...he has worked his ass off to get here.

Cons:
He is SMALL.

He has been banged up a ton. Mutiple occasions of broken bones resulting in trips to IR. Could just be fluky bad luck, could be related to the prior item.

Bottom line - he brings a badly needed jolt of elite speed to the roster and should have a role as the 4/5 WR and return guy if he can stay healthy.
