A championship game got a better rating than a regular season game?

Stop the press!!!

According to the people who keep up with it, it's never happened before. Since this wasn't an NFL game between Tampa Bay and Jacksonville, but two of the more popular teams, I think it has merit.

But feel free to keep your head in the sand.

Every year we hear the same stuff: "The ratings this year are higher than ever before". EVERY YEAR we hear this. In baseball, basketball, football, soccer, you name it.

Do you want to deny this?

Of course, because I think you are incorrect. Football has been on the rise lately, but I know that I've read statistics saying that baseball has struggled recently, which is why they have attempted to speed up the game with pitching clocks and the like. I don't keep up with NBA viewership as much, so I wouldn't comment on that, but I wouldn't be surprise that the MLS is up since it's starting to expand into more cities which of course raises how many people are compelled enough to watch it.

If you don't think baseball has been struggling, than I implore you to read some articles about he business of Baseball in terms of viewership. I've even copied one source for you.

Viewership is up because of the multiple ways to watch games. In the last few years i've been able to see any NBA, NFL or MLB game i've wanted due to Game Pass online. Even though I live over 4000 miles away. They didn't have this as little as 10 years ago.

Absolutely, but what you aren't considering if that you have more 'cable cutters' now more than ever. So whereas you have a select few who are going to pay extra to watch all the games, you have a greater number of households cutting cable entirely. ESPN themselves are down 1.5 million viewers because of it.

Hey @Bolts make sure your Kings take it easy on my boys
They usually do when playing the Heat in Miami, haven't won there in over a decade. Should be an easy win for your boys tonight.

Pacers look like ass
This. I had high hopes for them this year, but look pretty disjointed so far. New roster, lots of changes, new coaching staff, it's sort of expected.

My Lakers are one of the best young teams in the league and will only get better over the years. We're going through all of the growing pains that young teams go through, but we're competing night in and night out. Luke is going through growing pains as well as he doesn't know when to give up on the small lineups at critical parts of the game

Good game by your Pacers. Congrats.

When the Lakers went up 108-107 with a little over a minute left, I thought they were going to win.

Then Paul George remembered he's Paul George.

Can't even be mad because he's my 2nd favorite non-Laker.
