Sure..that too....and N.O.
But I listed those 2 for geographical accuracy intent.
LV and SEA should obviously be in the WC.
Minnesota is almost 700 miles away from the closest western conference team. Those others may technically be further east on the map, but Minnesota is by far the most East based on team locations.

Yep.

In the division with Chicago, Detroit, etc.

I've done this for Memphis moving east, let's tweak it for Minnesota moving east

Pacific Division: LAL, LAC, GSW, SAC, POR, PHX, SEA, LV

Central Division: UTA, DEN, HOU, SAN, DAL, NO, MEM, OKC

Midwest Division: MIN, CHI, MIL, DET, TOR, IND, CLE, ATL

East Division: NYK, BKN, BOS, PHI, WAS, CHA, MIA, ORL

Pretty good but Atlanta is awkward

If it's Memphis moving east, you swap. Minnesota to the Central, and Memphis to Midwest and it's less geographically awkward

I think ATL is less out of place with this than MIN is currently is. Just change the name from Midwest to thundercougarfalconbird Division.

Looks like next week there will be a vote on adding 2 new expansion teams for the 2028-29 season. If they vote 23 out of 30 in favor they will start interviewing potential owners then the final vote will be later this year if all goes well. Man I hope Seattle gets an NBA team. Before I die I would like to see the Mariners and Sonics win a chip atleast one time.

NBA Expansion

Well, I want you to live a very long time because the Jazz needed to win a championship before a new Seattle team. So you’re planning on living until 2072?

I think I would do divisions of 4. 8 is too difficult for scheduling assuming teams get extra games against division foes.

South: Miami, Atlanta, Orlando, Charlotte
Atlantic: NY, Brooklyn, Boston, Washington
North: Minnesota, Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee
Other: Toronto, Philly, Indiana, Cleveland

Northwest: Portland, Seattle, Sacramento, GS
South Pacific: LAL, LAC, PHX, LV
Texas +: Hou, SA, DAL, OKC
Other: DEN, Utah, MEM, NO

Can’t think of names for all the divisions off the dome. But I think the NFL model of 4 divisions of 4 teams makes a lot more sense than divisions of 8.

Not perfect, but each conference would really only have 1 awkward division this way in terms of geographic proximity.

Could also switch Washington and Philly. Not sure what is best there.

They aren’t going to make a realignment decision based on 1 player rivalry.
Would not think so no, but this is Silver. I think it’s Memphis regardless.

Yeah to this day I have no idea what the thought process was in trading away Donovan Mitchell? Did he want out?

I say rethink the whole thing and go to nation wide conferences like NFL and MLB. Have NBC and the ABC. LA teams and NY teams in separate conferences. Make everyone travel all over. Now @Mebert can stop whining about how far the Wolves have to go on their private luxury plane.

That one is easy.

They weren’t good enough to contend, weren’t bad enough to get high lotto picks and the core was getting expensive.

Will they fix the travel call and the SGA "contact" rule?

NBA is becoming a freaking joke but sure let's add more teams

With that said. I do want the Super Sonics back!

It has been said all along if Seattle got a team all the history would revert back.

This is what I get for getting all my info from the onion.-com sports page. Not accurate at all.
