So these guys did a list of the top 15 players of the decade (like All-NBA with 1st, 2nd, 3rd teams)

All-Decade Team: Best NBA players of the 2010s

Like any of these lists, the last few names are always up for debate, but by and large they got most of them right IMO

Except Carmelo. WTF? And 2nd team as well. Replace him with Klay Thompson and that's my list (I would put Klay 3rd team, Giannis 2nd). Even Kobe is questionable (this isn't the 2000s Kobe we are talking about) but at least he's 3rd team.

Thoughts?

Blake Griffin should not be 2nd team either.

Put D Wade in there.

Lots of flaws. Giannis really only had 3 good years yet he makes an all decade team?

Also Melo slander is crazy. He is absolutely deserving of the 2nd team.

People really forgot already how deadly Melo was

He wants to play, is he really toast?

Also, he played well on international teams...shouldn't he be on the FIBA team that no one else wants to be on?

Kind of looks like a weak era for stars. Kawhi is a weak candidate for 1st team until you realize that the amount of top talent in the league was pretty thin during this period. If Melo and Griffin are on there then why not put Dwight Howard.

He's not toast. As he said in his interview, there isn't 450 players better than him. There's probably not even 225 players better than him. As for international teams, they usually try and get younger guys or guys approaching/in their prime. Not 35 year old basketball players

Kawhi won finals MVP twice this decade.

As for your 2nd question, I'm almost certain Melo/Blake had better numbers for a longer time period this decade than Dwight

Yes, but this year everyone is saying no thanks, wouldn't Carmelo be the guy to make an exception for?

Yep, Dwight did his damage half in the 2000s, by 2010 he was in decline. Same as Kobe. It's just where the cutoff is.

Not really. Better to go with a young guy who can possibly be back next summer for the Olympics

If you're going to put Kobe on there when he didn't do much in the 2010's, why not Dwight.

I didn't say Kawhi doesn't belong on 1st team, I said he doesn't belong until you look at the star power this decade. He is only a 17 ppg average player this decade. It's only because there aren't a lot star players this decade that he is even sniffing the 1st team all decade.

I think that he's hurt himself with how he's handled the end of his career and how he handled things in OKC.

Pretty much everyone knows that Melo hasn't been "that Melo" for at least 3 years. But he has expected teams to treat him like he was still "that Melo".

The "OKC never said I wasn't going to start, so I figured I'd start" is a crap excuse. Once he was told they weren't looking for him to start, he should have handled it better.

Having said that, as I posted earlier, the guy can still put the ball in the hoop. So it seems likely that, if he stays in shape and keeps saying that he's willing to come off the bench, someone will pick him up either before the season or later in the season when injuries start to hit.

I think you mean Houston. Not OKC

Who's had a better decade in total: Blake Griffin or Anthony Davis?

Blake's been in the NBA since 2010 and Davis was drafted in 2012. Both have capped out as a 2nd round teams.

Blake's resume:
6x AS,
5x All-NBA,
21.9 pts,
9.0 RPG,
4.5 APG,
0.5 BPG,
0.9 SPG
50.2% FG, 34.2 3PT, 69.2 FT%

AD's resume:
6x AS,
3x All-NBA,
3x All NBA Defense,
23.7 pts,
10.5 rpg,
2.1 APG,
2.4 BPG,
1.4SPG,
51.7 FG%, 31.4 3PT%, 79.5 FT%

1st team looks good. No problem with Kawhi on 1st, 2 Finals MVP's is enough.

2nd team I would include Wade. Probably take out AD or Griffin, wouldn't have a problem with either.

3rd team - Other than the Wade-Griffin/AD swap it looks good other than Giannis, he should not have been included at all. I would add Dirk instead. He won that ship and Finals MVP in 10-11 and has averaged 21 and 7.5 for the 2010's, 5 AS's, 3 All-NBA's.
