Or let's say they did it this year for example and a player like Austin Reaves who is having a career year misses out for one of the undeserving international players
Not really different than when guys missed out for being in a stacked West though.

Ok Mr. Herman

I don’t even know who that is so it ain’t gonna keep me up tonight. Is it something I should know?

Oh, I looked it up. I thought he said I know you are, but what am I? All I said was and vice versa, but he may have. I didn’t pay much attention to his isms.

Sadly, I’m gonna have to end this witty repartee, halfway witty anyway. The missus has come downstairs and we have to watch Slow Horses now I’ve been told which is not that bad a thing.

And that has always been the problem with these USA vs the World All-Star game ideas.

The World team can come up with 5-7 players as good or better than team USA top 5-7 players...but there is a big difference once you get past that.
I'd be interested to see what USA team you'd put out there against an International team.

So these guys are gonna play how many extra minutes of basketball now?

They'll be able to sell this shit to some retarded tv executive.

First the change, then my commentary:

TEAMS AND SELECTION:
- It's a 3-team format with three 8 man rosters.
- Two of the teams will have American players, one will have foreign players.
- 5 starters and 7 reserves from both East and West, adding up to 24 players. 16 will go to the 2 US teams and 8 will go to the international team. If a 16-8 split isn't achieved, the walking corpse Adam Silver will name extra players to the roster and make changes.
- No positional requirements
- Fans, media, players voting for the starters, coaches picking the reserves.

THE GAME:
- It's still four 12-minute quarters
- The first 3 quarters are a round-robin tournament. So for example: Q1 is USA1 vs. USA2, Q2 is USA1 vs. International, Q3 is USA2 vs. International
- The 4th quarter puts the 2 top teams against each other. If all 3 teams have a 1-1 record, point differential will decide who advances.

... did you get all that?

Okay. Let me start by saying... what in the actual F is this trainwreck of a system? How confusing, convoluted, and over-produced is this All-Star game format? Hey NBA, here's an idea. Have your "USA vs. the World", and have 2 teams play each other for an entire game. It would be USA players vs. International players.

This format of having two NBA squads somewhat smells of the NBA trying to protect USA basketball, and not wanting to expose a united NBA team from getting beat by the international team, which from my perspective it would.

Put this team out there:
1. Luka
2. Jokic
3. Wemby
4. SGA
5. Giannis
6. Embiid
7. Siakim
8. Sabonis
9. Markkanen
10 Porzingis
11. Bogdanovic
12. Gobert

I'd take it over any current USA team. Sorry, Lebron, Durant, and Curry are getting old. They won't save USA Basketball if this game gets contested. Meanwhile, Ant, Ja, Zion, Trey, Brunson, Mitchell, etc... they aren't better than what the International team has.

How many sports could an all star team from 1 country legitimately compete with an all star team from the rest of the world?

International basketball has come a long way since the dream team.

Nothing remotely embarrassing about the international team boasting more top end talent.

Agreed.. you’d have to ask “the human corpse” Adam Silver why we need 2 US all-star teams

Not about that. At the end of careers, All Star appearances is a big thing people look at to determine how good a player was.

It's not fair for a true deserving all star as let's say a Jalen Williams missing out on an all star appearance because we had to force 12 international players

Or let's say they did it this year for example and a player like Austin Reaves who is having a career year misses out for one of the undeserving international players

Has been explained.

More than half the NBA allstars are American.

Those accolades matter for player legacies.

I certainly don’t want Bogdanovich earning an all star bid over much more deserving players simply because he was born overseas.
