Still have them winning the title but I'm pumping the brakes on worrying as much they are going to be a GOAT level team. Not so fast anyway,
Still possible, they still have not had the whole team healthy. To be determined come playoff time.

I don't understand the Knicks right now.....could be they had jet lag in this 112-107 loss at Phoenix tonight and forgot to play defense for most of the game....but they also went on a few costly cold stretches...and committed 18 turnovers.
Coach Brown seemed a little pissed off...and rightly so...but they really need JHart back soon...and fully healthy.
Next 3 on their road trip...@ Blazers, then Kings, & Warriors B2B.

Deepest team in the league. Also bringing up injuries against Memphis who been hammered by injuries alll season is lame

Seriously?

Cmon man.

A couple guys sitting out is one thing.

MVP + 2.5 other starters is a game you aren’t likely to win.

And they still did win anyway.

Better 2 way player than that Canadian who plays for OKC

No argument there.

You said SGA was not in the conversation.

That is wrong and you were put in your place.

Giannis is the best 2 way player IMO.

Yeah. Wemby is next for sure.

What I am not sure about is whether he will play enough games to get any big awards.
I think if he doesn’t next year the rule will be changed.

I hope so
the thing I dislike the most about it is not the awards, directly at least. There are too many max contracts in the league anyway but this allows even more guys to qualify for supermax contracts, creating even more apron issues for good teams.

The problem is that everyone who qualifies seems to get it.

Team are unwilling or usable to exercise common sense when it comes to this stuff. Just because a player qualifies doesn’t mean they are actually worth it.

The whole idea of the supermax in the first place was that only the elite players would qualify. That is not the case.

Yes and teams actually have the ability to write in or write out supermax provisions. Chet was willing to forego the supermax in his max contract, presumably because of how much he has been hurt. Jdub settled for less than the full supermax escalator,

AD's career might be done. The dude is extremely fragile and now that he is older, he doesn't heal very fast. What a disappointment this guy is.

Nah.

Even if that were the case, he has had a fine career. Even when judged against other number 1 overall picks.

But for Maverick fans…

Ouch.

Yeah, I guess you could say his career is a bit of a disappointment because injuries kept him from realizing his full potential. But can't really say that he's a disappointment since he can't really control his body breaking down on him.

If he could have stayed healthy, that Luka/AD trade doesn't look nearly as bad...of course, if he could stay healthy, the Lakers may have had no interest in trading him....even for Luka.

Could he have accomplished more?

Sure, I guess.

But he won a championship, made 10 all star teams and was all NBA first team 4 times.

I don’t see how that can be considered a disappointment.

Most number 1 picks don’t accomplish that much.

Disappointing only in the sense that he could have probably put himself in the convo for greatest big of all time, probably could have gotten another couple of rings as well.

It's similar to Shaq. As dominant as Shaq was in his day, imagine what he could have been if he was as dedicated to staying in shape and improving his game as Kobe was?

The difference of course is that AD can't control getting injured. Shaq could control his off-season workouts, etc.
