Lakers up on the Bucks 65-34 at halftime.

Maybe they're pissed about what Zach Harper said? lol

What a poor effort by the Bucks. It's not like the Lakers are playing exceptionally hot.

Denver is pulling away because the corpse of Rudy Gobert will not be yanked for some reason.

They needed to start a rebuild. SGA was a decent young player, but as you yourself said, no one saw him becoming what he is now.

Whether you want to hear it or not, AD has been considered a top 10 player when healthy. He was also coming off of having played 76 games in '23-'24 (the most he'd played in his career) and had played in 42 games before the trade (although, he was out with a relatively minor injury). Not sure if it would have changed anything, but the Mavs should have waited for him to get completely healthy before they played him.

Also, Luka was injured at the time of the trade which was one of the concerns the Mavs had that led to the trade.
Exactly.

Zach Harper of the Athletic:

Has the Lakers’ performance without LeBron changed how you feel about their outlook? Or his?

Not really. We knew Luka was elite, so his play hasn’t changed anything. Austin Reaves is definitely taking a leap. That was expected in a contract year, but maybe not to this degree. I’m impressed, but in a playoff scenario, they still don’t have enough defense or size. LeBron coming back at 41 years old with sciatica isn’t fixing either of those issues. It’s a really good regular-season team, though.

As of this moment, I'd tend to agree, but the Lakers are still a bit of a work in progress. There are some new faces and they won't even begin to know what they are until Lebron gets back and they've had several games to see how everyone fits when they're all healthy.

Once they see that, then they can hopefully address any needs at the trade deadline.
