Is this Nancy Drew series in the same universe as Riverdale?

Currently, no, and Nancy Drew is also not an Archie Comics property as all the shows in the Archieverse are.

However, as noted in the OP, the shows are very similar stylistically and on the same network, and I wouldn't be surprised if they do a crossover someday.

Update: Nancy Drew has been renewed for a second season, but has had its first season order reduced to 18 episodes due to the covid-19 pandemic interfering with production, so the season finale will be next week.

I have been pleasantly surprised by how good this show is! It's like Riverdale or Veronica Mars, but, in my opinion, better! Anyone else watching?

S1 is over now. I like that they wrapped up the main plot threads of S1. The last 2 eps of the season have been unusual in that they felt like an extended epilogue after the big reveals in episode 16.

I haven't watched S4 of Veronica Mars, but I liked Nancy Drew better than S1-3 Veronica Mars.

Yeah, I'm with you on that: S1-2 of Veronica Mars were vastly better than S3.

S3 with the move to college and the switch from season-long to 7-episode story arcs was so different it felt like a different show.
