For whatever reason, Nabokov decided he needed a nap for the SO vs Pittsburgh, so he gave way to Rick "Where's my head at?" DiPietro.

Unless there was a health reason, that seems like a pretty low ball move by Nabby.

He has a lot of groin problems. And by groin I mean vagina.

Capuano said it was "fatigue". Really? REALLY?

I mean, there is a point where your body will break down a bit and fatigued muscles aren't really able to perform well, you get cramping and what not. So it's possible that he couldn't physically perform, but that's not exactly the feeling I get about it.

Bullshit, he is a veteran. The season is young. If he is fatigued he should not be in the NHL.

He doesn't want to face the Sharks tomorrow... ):

PS. In all seriousness, I <3 Nabby and, IMO, he wouldn't have just left the game if there wasn't something wrong health-wise.

I also love Nabby. I was just a lil drunk when I posted last night. I'm partly disappointed and partly relieved he won't play the Sharks tomorrow.

Pretty shitty to bring a cold goalie in for a SO unless there is an injury issue. He can't take any warm up shot's correct?

I am not a goalie but, you don't really need to be warmed up for a shootout anyway? It's mostly a crapshoot...

Didn't some team(s) use it as a strategy a few years back when shootouts were first introduced? I forget... I swear there was a team that did it for a bit... sub out the goalie right before the end of OT because he was "better at shootouts".

Not saying you're wrong but I don't remember any team doing that on a consistent basis.

Hah, it's cool... I probably *am* wrong. I'll try to google it later if I remember and see if I find something.

They might have only done for a few games (and it obviously didn't work or they would have kept doing it).

We're talking about Rick Dipietro here. He needs all the warmups he can get. His first major injury occurred in the shootout drill at the All Star game.

I'm calling Bullshit on Capuano here. Nabby should have finished the game.

yeah, I remember that. the strategy went 0 for 4 or 5, and they scrapped it.
forget who it was though. for some reason I'm thinking Ron Wilson was involved.
