Haven't watched this new series yet... But still plan to. Was a huge fan of this back in the day

Meh. MST3K was counter cultural back in the day. It was one of the only shows to laugh at Hollywood in a way that dug right into their overblown egos.

And now they want to revive it with this racist shit ball Patton Oswald? How's that gonna work?

I don't know what racist stuff you're referring to, as I try to avoid most news, but he is playing the son of TV's Frank, and I actually think it's a good fit.

As far as poking fun at Hollywood's ego, I don't know how relevant that is, considering most of the movie's are shitty B movies that nobody thinks are great.

First episode was good, fwiw. They stayed true to form. Good enough for me.

Well, the meat and potatoes of MST3K was and will always be the movies and the riffing thereon. He has nothing really to do with that.


I don't know much about Oswalt personally, I try not to delve too much into my entertainment's politics en sech...if I did that, there'd prolly be no entertainment left.

I think you kinda just have to ignore the last 6 months or so from Hollywood. They aot themselves into a lather over the events, and there are no dissenting ideas in that cesspool, so nothing gets filtered.

He has a long way to go to get to Sean Penn, Ashley Judd, Susan Sarandon, Alec Baldwin or Tim Robbins territory. Those are pretty much the only actors I actively avoid due to their political outspokenness.

I tried watching it the other day when I was half out of it. Always takes me a bit to adjust to the new voices. I too preferred Mike for his delivery. Still like the stuff they do with rifftrax.

Maybe the best thing to come out of this remake with Netflix is the potential for them to release...EVERYTHING.
