While it is fashionable for throngs of fans to rail against what appears to be zero adjustments being made at halftime of our games, the honest truth is there are no adjustments that could be made that makes sense to this coaching staff. The real adjustment should happen in the first half of games, when Washington decides to stretch the field. Not doing so in the first half sends one message to opposing defensive staffs. Stop the run and make the error prone Cousins beat them. Once they know that there's no deep balls coming, they will stack the box and play tight coverage, making already tight windows that Kirk has trouble pinpointing even tighter and more likely to result in turnovers or incompletions.
