Really nice RB. Probably the second or third best RB in the B10 which is pretty damn good IMO. Would be even better if Martinez didnt run so much.

I think there are 4 guys you could make an argument for with Redd, Coker, Burkhead and Ball. Redd leads in yards but he has played an extra game. Ball leads in TD's with Burkhead second. Coker ahs the best YPG average and is 3rd in TD's. Id probably go

1. Ball
2. Burkhead
3. Coker
4. Redd

but any variation of those 4 is acceptable IMO.

Well Burkhead had 35 carries 2 short of the school record vs MSU so it's not a matter of Taylor taking up possessions.

Oh Rex still gets alot of carries ( 3rd most in B10 amongst RB's behing Redd and Coker) but he'd get more if it werent for Martinez. Burkhead has the 2nd best ypc in the B10 behind Ball ( tied with Coker at 5.3). All 4 of those guys are great ( Coker, Rex, Ball, Redd). Id take any of them in a second

By the way... this man crush thing some of you are holding onto is a little weird... and I do not say this with any disrespect to Rex and his abilities... just that some of you are..... or may be slightly... ummm... ahhh... (odd) <-- that's the word I was looking for!

??? Really? OK I guess. You guys have a QB with 122 carries ( 15 per game). 3rd most in the B10 for QB's behind DRob and Scheelhaase yet Rex is 3rd in the B10 in yards and 2nd in ypg. Conventional wisdom would suggest that if you had a QB who only have 30-40 carries at this point in the year that Rex would get the other 8-10 carries per game thus increasing his ypg by 40-50 and overrall yards by 4-5 hundred. Now even if you figure that Rex gets some of those yards because of the threat of Martinez running its still safe to say that if you had a pass first QB that Rex would lead the B10 in yards, ypg and maybe even TD's.

Bolded on top is not just a figure of imagination... TM can take it to the house on any given play... and gives the "D" something more to consider... We all know he is not much of a throwing qb... so for him to throw first... run or option... 2nd... would not be playing to his strength. Thus, Rex gains some advantage by TM gouging the "D" now and then.

Terp, the issue is not with you and your intent... I recognize this much... it's how some others are presenting their infatuation of him.

I realize he is a hell of a player with great attributes but .. some posters need to lighten up a little I think... umm.... well.... I guess they don't have too if it is indeed their true feelings but... ummm, well....
