Nice work Vance...I disagree with your premise, though. Of course I'd be happy with Bush but would rather see them invest in the O-line if they're going to spend some dough. Honestly, behind the same O-line I dont see Bush being substantially better than Benson.
No sweat...you're a good sports writer. If I had my druthers I'd go hard after one of the top tier OG's in FA (nicks prefrably then Grubbs). I'd add another OG in the 1st round (DeCastro at 17 or Glenn at 21) then draft a RB at some point. I think the best value at RB would be to trade up into the 2nd for a Miller or Wilson. If they cant get one of the top 3 RB's in the draft the rest of the guys seem to be pretty similar. I honestly dont see a big diffence between Doug martin (who some claim should go in the 2nd) and a Chris Polk (3rd) or even Vick Ballard or Cyrus Gray (after the 4th).
You gotta start somewhere...but dear god....that site is a mess.
If that dude Jason is your brother then I apologize, but yikes. He's like Hobspin. I do not like homers. I absolutely loathe people who try and question my intelligence. He's doing both.
You're right. It gives me a chance to get some writing out there for people to read and hopefully leads to bigger things down the line. We'll see. Rep it the K-man.
Michael Bush seems to be a name Bengal fans have been throwing around for years. I actually can't say I've watched him too many times, but given he gets high marks for both running and receiving I'd be interested. I think we really need a running back that can actually catch. Leonard is a good receiver, but Marvin only allows him to play on 3rd downs and everyone in the stadium already knows he's getting it.
I always thought Bush would be a quality starting RB if given a chance, but after last yr I'm not sure.. here were his YPC numbers in the games after Mcfadden went down and Bush was forced to carry the load as a starter...
I will knit pick a little. Since I am such a grammar expert *rolls his eyes at himself*
But figured since you are a professional now :P That I would assist you in a common writing error.
You wrote, and I quote: "He’s also a better receiver out of the backfield than Cedric Benson, whom he would replace."
You do not want to use "whom" in that position as that is only used when following a preposition. You had two prepositional phrases prior to that final segment, but there was no preposition to start the ending where you used "whom".
for whom, from whom, to whom, etc.
You probably already knew this, but thought I would throw it out there so you can keep your eye on it in your future articles. Good read though. I agree with Bush, think it was well thought out, but I would still give and arm and a leg for Richardson.
I don't get paid, so I'm no professional. Good catch though Crash. I just didn't pay attention. Thanks for checking it out. Another article is up by the way. If you go to stripehype.com, it should be the featured story. The Glass is Half..Full?? is the title.
