Years ago - he was my favorite as well. Upchurch was the best return man in the game while he was playing. I understand he also dated Condeliza Rice back in the day.

Nice. I don’t know if I ever knew that or if I did I have forgotten. I bought his biography that Reggie Rivers wrote. Vance has really used his past issues to help others. He has rebounded well from alcoholism.

I saw him run a 4x1 while at Arizona at a meet in San Diego, didn't know about his football at that time. Also didn't know about an alcohol problem, thanks!

I don’t really know the details but he always talks about losing a son to alcoholism. But when I google it, he died in a motorcycle accident. Perhaps he was drunk? I don’t really know. Maybe alcohol controlled his life and it led to poor decisons so he is referring to that.
