Unfortunately for me, i have been in this same auction league for over a decade. The other 11 owners know i stay current on players, etc. So this actually works against me during the bidding and auction draft.

Let me also add that our little Sports SportsHoopla game of picking the 6 players who wont finish in the top 12 has me thinking. Maybe i can use this to my advantage.

Why should i spend 50% of my budget on players who may not even finish well?

There is more money to be spend on what would be considered "middle round" players.

Thoughts??

Personally, i will always be a stars and scrubs guy in fantasy football auctions...

but really just like anything in fantasy it all depends on how well you execute your plan... if you pick the right players, you will do fine... otherwise you wont...

But basically everyone has the same sleeper list at this point...

this is the problem with the internet, basically everyone plays off the same list.. especially during the preseason... as it i is to simple to get the most current ADPs...

Middle round players sometimes cost as much as elite as the draft progresses and players go off the board. Just be careful.

This is a fact , as 2-3 teams that have waited for the elite to go off the board find themselves bidding each other up on the next tier of players.

it all depends on the timing of the auction... just as often as mid ranged players go for too high, you see ELITE players being cheaper than they should...

this is why usually the first players being thrown out in the auction are low end ELITE players...

Same scenario for 2022. I draft Wednesday. Any suggestions or strategies would be appreciated.

Looking ahead at some of these preset auction values... woah.
TE values are extremely inflated. Even mid-range TE are over $20 which is more than for QB like RW, Dak & Mr. Discount Dbl-Check.

Yeah I think other than the top guys all prices are inflated, for the most part. I mean QB’s seem to be as well

My favorite sleeper TE is Hurst. I think Engram bounces back too, but his health is often questionable.

Seems like a lot of mouths to feed in Cincy tho?
there is a different level of "sleepers" IMO... Hurst is a great sleeper, but his ceiling is maxed... He is not going to be a top 5 TE, so what's the point?? I would say Engram is a ceiling sleeper... he is a lot like Kmet, but kmet is safer, in that the receivers around them are not great and team will likely be playing from behind a lot...

another great TE sleeper in the same CEILING is Brevin Jordan... I might like Jordan more than Kmet and Engram...

I want to leave my 1-plyr keeper auction with 1 stud RB and 1 stud WR to pair with my keeper
(Jefferson @ $39, budget $200)

I just drafted my two money league auctions on Saturday and Sunday-live drafts at local American Legion. Plenty of drinks and comradery. Great league- we have guys fly in from all over the country. The commish actually flies in from Columbia every year.
Think you need to go big on RB and WR. Depending on league rules (PPR or not) I would allocate $85-95 for two guys. I got Henry/Diggs in one and Barkley/Kupp in the other. Since these leagues are PPR I then spent money on WRs. You should be able to get some decent options in the teens-St Brown/Godwin/Robinson/Gabe Davis/Woods. You can't afford to overpay but should be able to grab some second tier talent at that price.. RB2 I spent less getting Raashad Penny and Cordarrelle Paterson In the two leagues. You have to sacrifice somewhere-for me it was at TE. I grabbed $1 TEs at the end of the draft that are starters but not highly ranked. I got Hooper and Higbee. Set aside $5-10 for RB3 & RB4. Kicker is $1 and DST $2 max.
I have used a similar strategy in these league in the past and have been successful winning more often than the guys would like.

I was gonna mention Hooper when I suggested Hurst and Engram. Hooper might even be the safer play and more upside.

Here's how mine ended up. Spent too much on RB early but I don't think this will be the worst team, kept Justin Jefferson from last yr. Took QB2 cause we were tired of losing to $2 bids to finish the draft on fringe RBs and WRs we wanted. TEs were going expensive when we nominated Hock at $4....then ended up with him, lol...oops!

Dak $6 / Cousins $1

Henry $65 / Conner $25 / Breece $23 / Gainwell $4 / Burkhead & Abdullah $1

JJ $39 / Juju $15 / Kirk $9 / Gallup $3 / MacKenzie $2

Hockenson $4 / Ravens D $2

Here's how the auction went down.
As usual, it was chaos and overbidding.

Here's the QB & TE prices
