8/17 Anderson vs Taylor Hearn
8/18 Gonzalez vs Spencer Howard
8/19 Flexen vs Foltynewicz

I think the expectation is pretty simple. We need to win all 3 of these games to keep any wild card hopes alive.

Agreed. Heim had 2 walk off HR's last series. He's only had 8 HR's all season and has a .202 AVG this season. Was it a fluke that 25% of his HR's were walk offs with Seattle :noidea: We need a 3 game sweep here because we follow this with 3 @ Houston then 2 @ Oakland. Should have a pretty decent idea where we stand and when we get home we've got 3 more with Houston to close out August. So, the end of August we'll either still be contenders or it'll be the last nail in the coffin. lol

Doesn't happen too often, but right now the biggest problem in the offense is Haniger. He's hit into a few DPs in scoring situations, and has too many weak popups and strikeouts lately.

It takes a lot of pressure off the guys whose peak is his average when he's having good at bats. He isn't right now, so hopefully he can work out of it this series.

Agreed - Haniger is very streakey ( as are many MLB players )

The biggest problem with Haniger is his seemingly unwillingness or to ever shorten up his approach at the plate / his big leg kick and lunging into the ball swing. He NEVER shortens things up and simply tries to make contact in situations where a fly ball scores a run or just putting a ball in play will do.

He is always selling out with that high leg kick and diving at the ball with a massive upper cut trying to launch one over the left field wall.

I personally think the Ms are going to the well with a hole in their bucket right now. I wanna believe in them.... but being stood up all these years has left me jaded.

I completely agree with you.

Not to disparage Haniger at all, but one of my biggest gripes with him (at least watching this year) is that he chases way too much, especially on pitches outside and down. You echo my thoughts that every time he swings, it's like he's trying to hit it out of the park.

If I'm wrong, I'll happily admit it but the teams in this wildcard race ahead of the Mariners are just better teams right now.

If any of you guys need any inspiration to watch this game, Marco has been great his last 6 starts. 2.13 ERA and a .204 batting average against.

Now that I've said this, he'll shit the bed today.

I find it hilarious that people would need motivation to watch a team having it's best and most entertaining season in years.

The team seems to have gotten over the trade. Might be time for others to

You're funny, but probably right. Happens to me almost everytime I try to predict something positive. I jinx it almost everytime.

Why do they keep playing musical chairs with the announcers? If they are going to do that then give us Rizzs on tv sometimes, he's better than these turds by a mile.

I stopped paying attention during the 9th and looked over a bit later and was like umm why is the game still playing? Then saw the reaction after that last home run.

2 strikes and moore shows bunt and watches the pitch go down the middle of the plate in extra innings with a guy on 2nd . plant his ass in AAA
You cant waste the 1st at bat in extra inning games like that with a guy on second, that was pathetic.
