It happens - Toughest ball to read as an outfielder is one that is pissed on and hit on a line drive directly at you. Pros are supposed to take that 1st step or 2 back ( to prevent the obvious ) - sometimes their instinct is wrong. Julio is learning everyday. He will be a gold glove cf one day soon.

That was a 1:10,000 kind of play. Off the bat it looked like a line drive at him, or one that would drop in front. Then the backspin hit and that ball took off up and left. Can't blame him much. Trout hits missiles and balls do weird things hit that hard.

Speaking of hitting balls hard... Julio got more revenge and parked another one. I only heard the radio call and you could hear the ball off the bat like a gunshot. He's special.
