Also, how can this be based on this year's playoffs so much when 4 QBs haven't even played a game yet?

I think it's just more about playing well at the right times with small samples.

If you take out Flacco's Super Bowl winning year he's 6-4 in the playoffs with 10 TD's to 8 INTs. I don't see any reason to believe he wasn't buckling down those years in comparison to his SB run were he (obviously) went 4-0 with 11 TDs to 0 INTs. I just think he had an excellent four game stretch.

Come on now. That's because his first 2 years in the league he threw 6 picks and 1 TD. Let's cut the guy some slack. I'm not sure how many rookie QBs light it up in the playoffs.

His success is more than just 2012. If you look at 2010 on (subtracting out his 1st 2 years in the league), he has thrown 20 tds and 2 ints.

I like that stat. Tony "Clutch" Romo. Undefeated, no Ints and a 114 rating!!!

The only other factor in the SB run was he was hitting FA. The FA year is welldocumented in sports for being overly productive :)

Again, small sample sizes.

Although in this case, confirmation bias probably plays the largest roll in people believing this.

Cut some slack on what?

I'm not saying he's a bad guy or anything. I'm just pointing out that playoff performance is based on extremely small sample sizes. People get far too caught up with these extremely small sample sizes sometimes.

Funny you mention that. Cause RW's best playoff game statistically was his rookie year vs atl.... also the only game he lost.

Eventually people will realize that putting up huge numbers isn't everything with a qb. Flacco and Wilson will never put up manning or rodgers numbers. Because both their teams like defense and running the ball.... Any coincidence they are the last two qbs on the list to win super bowls????

No...what you said was his success was off of only one year. He's actually played very well in the postseason since 2010.

If you go off of playoff performances you gotta say Brady is 1 followed by Flacco, Eli, Wilson, and Rodgers.

If you're just going off of the stats from this year, then yeah Romo is up there. He's had a fantastic year.
Brady's playoff performance has gotten worse the past few years.

True, his team overall hasn't been that great tho. I still default to the guy with the most rings tho.

I don't like Brandt's use of the term trustworthy. If he wanted to say that he think that Romo is the 2nd best QB right then he should say that.

Trustworthy should only be used when talking about someone who has proven themselves to be reliable. Romo may be the 2nd best QB in the league but he has NOT proven himself to be reliable to date.
