On the THE LANDRY HAT, there is an article by THE BLEACHER REPORT.
The article talks about the biggest mistake contracts in the NFL.

Bleacher Report lists Elliott's contract as a top mistake.

I found the article after I had written my original post.

and Elliot's dead cap hit for 2022 would be $30,000,000.

Tony Pollard this season, is getting 1.1 mil.

Campo earned his money by being the whipping boy for Jerry’s contract effups and coaching a team that had low talent and no money to spend. Now Parcells took almost that same team and made the playoffs but Campo earned his money IMO he was not a good head coach but he earned his money.

Ezekiel Elliot is the second highest paid running back in the NFL.

2018..........1434 yards rushing......4.7 yards per carry
2019......1357 yards rushing.......4.5 yards per carry
2020....979 yards rushing......4.0 yards per carry
2021.....1002 yards rushing ..........4.2 yards per carry
The Oline has also degraded in this time period

D Law........$40,000,000............$30,000,000 guaranteed

DeMarcus Lawrence

2017.........14.5 sacks.........26 QB hits
2018.........10.5 sacks....23 QB hits
2019........5 sacks.......16 QB hits
2020...........6.5 sacks....10 QB hits
2021..........3 sacks.......7 QB hits

The salary cap and Jerry's contracts have really helped these guys.
Cap hits for releasing them is not doable.

in 2022

Dak Prescott.........$19,730,000..... TEAM CAP HIT 8.96 % (out until when?.. He's been hurt 5 times in the last 4 seasons)
Zeke Elliot...........$18,000,000 TEAM CAP HIT 8.27 % (Tony Pollard makes 1.1 mil )
Tyron Smith .....17,500,000 TEAM CAP HIT 8. 20 % (out until December? Has missed 43 games out of the last 112)
DeMarcus Lawrence......$14,000,000 TEAM CAP HIT 6.35% (Exactly what does he do?)

4 players equal 32% of the team salary cap?

4 players in 2022 equal roughly 69 million dollars

Interesting take by Whitlock. Says what many here think.

Dak is overpaid for sure IMO but soon he won’t even be in the top 10 and probably in another year or so he may be more like 13-15. Regardless, that is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve read. Is that even a legitimate website? Anyone who even follows the Cowboys from a distance knows singling Dak out for “ego and greed” is completely asinine. Say he is overpaid all you want, but attributing those traits to Dak is ridiculous. And out of all the QBs they compare him to Brady? you can co pare any QB to Brady’s salary and they come up short. This is just an agenda piece. Might as well go read the Politics Board…

Kind of confused here. Why did Dak Prescott only want a 4 year deal ?
The COWBOYS (Jerry) wanted to give Dak a five year deal.
OK..........explain it.
We all know why..........don't we?
By his actions, is Dak Prescott a team player?
Michael Jordan and Tom Brady have (and had) taken far less to make their teams more competitive.
Why wouldn't a player want five year security?

Dak ain't hurting for money.

Dak Prescott's endorsements:

AT&T, Adidas, Beats by Dre, Campbell's Chunky Soup, Direct TV, 7-Eleven, New Era, Sleep Number, Oikos, Pepsi, Citibank.
Estimated at $50,000,000

America's Team QB is worth money, ain't it?

And is Dak Prescott an elite QB? in big games vs. winning teams?

Being a team player, is more than, talking the talk...............
