Why do I keep thinking he already retired? I guess after I saw the emotional ovation he got at his last game in Dallas, I just thought he was retiring?

if he's hesitating, he's coming back. though the reason he seems to be leaning towards another team is because he thinks that he's not wanted in dallas (or doesn't fit in to their plans) but hull said otherwise. personally i think he wants what every guy around his age does...to go out on top. i just don't see many contenders going after him. and the thought of him anywhere but with the stars is weird.

in my entire life in all honesty he is a guy i've never heard much about off the ice. i always just figured he was a stand up guy. maybe not iggy level but no problems at least

He's old and Dallas is having a "changing of the guard" as it were. Modano, Lehtinen and Turco are out while it's time for Lehtonen, Neal, Benn, Eriksson and so on to step up. Besides, I think Modano has felt slighted by Dallas ever since he had the captaincy taken away from him.
