@Nosferatu has started his annual draft. I traded the Seahawks first pick to Oakland for their 2nd, 3rd and 5th round picks. Had contemplated taking Josh Jackson instead of trading, we'll see how good/bad a decision that was.

You should have held out for his 2nd, 3rd & 4th...

Would be cool if we could get Guice in the second frame... I really like his style from the clips/video I've seen.

I have to imagine Pete/John are going to heavily focus on RB/CB with emphasis on the lines. If N. Jones can make a recovery and Dion Jordan keeps it going we might be OKAY on the line. Tom Johnson provides a great run stuffing ability.

As for the O-Line we did plug some blocking with Dickson and Fluker was a former top 15 pick. Return of Fant and Brown being back with an offseason should help.

My original plan was to trade back into the 20s somewhere and pick up a 2nd or 3rd, and then trade back again picking up another second and third and possibly a 4th. Being sick and missing the start of the draft - and being out at IHOP celebrating my son getting 450 AR (Accelerated Reader) points in school when the text came in just didn't allow me to do any of the ground work to accomplish it.

I would have really liked the Jackson pick - but I really think that Seattle will trade the pick, and I really try to do what I think the Seahawks would really do. I really see them moving into the 20s, then again into a position in the early second round as the Browns or 9ers (or someone else) looks to jump back up to pick up a late first.

Guice is still there right now, but I'm still 11 picks away or so. A lot of guys picked QBs, 6 in total through 29 picks.

Keep an eye on Billy Price (OG/C) and Ronnie Harrison (S - perfect Kam Chancellor replacement if he gets injured and his likely inevitable departure in 2019). I think both those guys would be great if they fall to the new 2nd... although if Guice is there I think you gotta nab him.

EDIT: you could also trade a little further back and try and snag Arden Key... I hate the idea of taking another guy with off field issues (McDowell ugh) but can't question his talent... maybe Pete could turn him around.

Vikings just took Price at #30

I traded the Seahawks first pick to Oakland for their 2nd, 3rd and 5th round picks.

I think I would be fairly content if that happened for real. This is a deep RB class, and we need to replenish depth in enough areas that multiple mid-round picks will help this team more than 1 first rounder (unless we strike gold with a HOF type player, of course).

Well Guice is gone... frankly I think the best option is trading down and taking either:

1) Chubb/Michel (RBs) - both are bruiser/downhill backs (Kerryon Johnson seems similar to Prosise)
2) Harrison (S) or Bates (S) - Harrison seems like a replacement option for Kam but we also have McDougald... Bates seems more like a replacement for Thomas... sources say Seattle was showing interest in Bates.
3) Arden Key (DE/EDGE) - Seattle needs to fill d-line depth but there's really nobody available in the 2nd frame that stands out, except Arden Key because of the talent set. IF (HUGE) he gets disciplinary issues nailed down, he can make a huge impact... he's got all the tools.

I think either way you look to trade down some...

You traded from 18 all the way to 41? And only picked up a 3 and 5? Id be pissed if that trade actually happened.

Yah, ultimately gave up 90 points to move back, that really never makes sense. In actuality we'd probably take the 2nd, 3rd, and a 2019 2nd, but he's obviously kind of trying to simulate what would really happen and I'm not sure how this works, but it's fans picking stuff, so obviously not everyone is going to respond or entertain offers.

Future pick trading is outlawed - since it screws up next year's draft. All I had to work with was this year's picks. Granted, I coulda stayed put - but there wasn't anything better by way of trade.

Sony Michel good choice... I like Guice but Michel is a similar back and a downhill runner who hits holes hard. In all honesty had we traded down we'd have acquired a 2019 2nd or 3rd as well, but that's not a factor in this mock, so whatever...

I get it... defending your move from Snuggles. I like your pick btw... I do think Harrison/Bates will be good, but we have an immediate need at RB now and we did draft a lot of safeties last year + re-sign McDougald.

I'm getting a little fed up with Seattle taking problem players and while Arden Key's talent is worth an early 2nd, the risk is too high for a team in semi rebuild.

I think Michel will give us a better receiving option than Guice anyway. Nothing special - but like Marshawn, couldn't completely throw out the idea of a pass just because he's in there on 1st or 2nd.

Well I'll be damned, folks. It's John Schneider!!

My goal in these mocks is to attempt to do what the team would actually do - so, I'll take that as a compliment ;)

The year we picked Michael in the 2nd round, I traded back to that exact spot in the mock. I took Tyrann Mathieu instead though - but I give myself half credit.
