Football isn't dying.

Tons of people no longer have ESPN which drives down the ratings.

The Sunday night ratings blew away the ratings from week 2 last year.

They were up against the Emmy's.

The match up was 2 teams no one expects to do much this year.

Football has over reached. Monday night used to be a big deal, now you can watch 12 hours of football on a Sunday so unless there's a meaningful match up Monday night will suffer.

Those awards shows get a lot of viewers for reasons I can't explain. I wouldn't watch them at gun point but....

Yeah, the reduction of practice time and some of the idiotic rules have made the game harder to watch. Especially early in the season. But, networks keep paying more and more for the product despite the ratings so I don't see the sport dying anytime soon

there is no flow to it

what is a legal tackle and can they ever call it consistently

the helmet rule needs tweaking to account for intent meaning if you go in for a tackle and the offensive player instinctively lowers himself so his helmet is now in the position the player was aiming at when he commits himself

and what are you asking d/lineman to do , i see blows to the head as being called but slight brushes

and making a tackle with the head to the side is clean in my opinion and not pile driving

off field behavior of the players . i saw a stat that and nfl player is arrested every 7 days
