Brewers acquired RHP Joakim Soria from the White Sox for LHP Kodi Medeiros and RHP Wilber Perez.

Soria adds more firepower to a Brewers bullpen that has been among the top units in baseball all season. The 34-year-old right-hander was sporting a 2.56 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, and 49/10 K/BB ratio in 38 2/3 innings this season for the White Sox, and he had earned 16 saves in 19 attempts. He'll work in a setup role in Milwaukee. Jace Fry seems like the best bet to take over ninth-inning duties in Chicago.

Astros acquired C Martin Maldonado from the Angels for LHP Patrick Sandoval and $250,000 in international bonus pool money.

Maldonado has batted just .223/.284/.332 in 290 plate appearances this season, but he's a tremendous defensive catcher -- he won the Gold Glove in the American League in 2017 -- and the Astros have been looking for help behind the plate since losing Brian McCann to knee surgery in early July. Maldonado will share time in Houston with Max Stassi, with Stassi getting the bulk of starts.

According to Jon Morosi of MLB.com, the Yankees have a deal in place for Blue Jay starter J.A. Happ.

Toronto will get infielder Brandon Drury and outfield prospect Billy McKinney in return, per Mark Feinsand of MLB.com. Happ, 35, has posted a 4.18 ERA, 1.175 WHIP, and 130/35 K/BB ratio in 114 innings (20 starts) this season with the Blue Jays and will bring a steady veteran presence to the Yanks' rotation. Look for something official here soon.

Nice deal for a Toronto team that seems to want to try and contend in 2019.

Maybe they will be getting donaldson back on a QO

Jays have a ton of middle infielders right now

I can see DH or 1b if they move Smoak. But Smoak is on a team friendly deal now.

I think Donaldson is done as a Jay

If they offer the QO he might take it, and losing him for nothing would be a mistake

Braves apparently talking Stroman deal with the Jays. Interesting. Stroman is still young, we've seen flashes of an Ace, but he's having an awful season. Change of scenery might do him good.

not sure about an "ace". He's had a few good years, but he's had very pedestrian K/BB rates. His FIP and xFIP are more than a run lower than his ERA, but they aren't great by any means (4.16 and 3.81 respectively). Let's hope he doesn't go down the same path as Ricky Romero...

He was hurt to start the season and since coming off of the DL he has been great.

For the Jays to trade him they would have to get something very significant back

getting out of Arlington should only help Hamels, but he's not the pitcher he was 3-4 years ago.

Rollie Lacy was scratched from his scheduled start, though I'm not sure if he's part of the trade.

Reminds of Chris Archer, which isnt good

Seems they live off either what they once were or were supposed to be, but not really what they are

Remember when Hamels choose the Rangers over the Astros? Man... talk about a wrong decision.

Mets lit him up on July 4th and he wasn't great in a start vs Boston on the 15th. He's basically treading Quintanta waters, meaning his every 3rd or 4th start is a clunker.
