Mitch Williams: The defending champs are strong, but the Rockies will take down the NL West | MLB.com: News
What a horrible writer. The column is supposed to be about how the Rox will beat the Giants in the west, then he spends 2/3 of the article talking about the Snakes...
Anyway, here is my response...
I have yet to see a single national writer or analyst do a proper job on the Giants. Sure they had a VERY quiet off season, but that is because they did all the roster moves during the season in '10. The Giants will have a full year of Posey, Ross, Bumgarner, Lopez and Ramirez. Panda SHOULD have a more solid season; DeRosa will actually play a game; Sanchez will start the year in SF; and Belt is waiting in the wings. Are the Giants going to run away with the division and be a monster in '11? Probably not. But they are the clear favorites in the NLW (no disrespect to Col, they have a SOLID team), and it is humorous to see the absolute lack of respect from the national media (especially b-hurt former Phillies).
