A couple of notes first:

CBS and Directtv have gotten their act together just in time for the game tonight. The game will be televised after all. Football cures all.

Secondly, the Dolphins have signed Robert Nkemdiche - I believe it is a 1-year deal. A low-risk-high-reward move for the Fins. He is being placed on the active/PUP-list as he continues to rehab his ACL injury.

Looks as though Fitzpatrick will get the start tonight and be given a series or two before turning to Rosen for the majority of the remaining game reps before turning to the rest of the QBs.

There will be a lot of things to keep an eye on for this game - lets see how the boys do.

Football is back, bitches.

Fuck tanking!

I haven't watch preseason in forever. It's all a tease. I'll wait until Opening Night to get my NFL fix.

I don't disagree. That being said, even these games mean SOMETHING to SOMEONE on the field - for me, thats what always makes these games intriguing -- if nothing else.

Liking this new approach under Flores and this new Dolphins offensive staff -- so far.

They are approaching the game on offense the smart way. Fundamentally sound.

Work the running game and have that open the passing game - none of the crap we saw under Gase where he went for the home-run/pass play 90% of the time.

Time of possessions will once again be a priority for the Dolphins -- its been a while.

Sloppy first defensive series for the Fins -- followed by a sloppy second offensive series.

Should see Rosen and the rest of the QBs the rest of the way.

Josh Rosen leads the Fins to their first TD of the pre-season.

Preston Williams making an impact already - stats may not show it - but turn on the tape and you will see the guy impacting the game with his presence.

Fins down 19-13 at the half

Offensively, the Dolphins have looked OK with both QBs - minus the Rosen INT. The offensively an issue. The running game - as I said earlier in camp, the starter should depend on two things -- 1.Who has earned it in camp and preseason. 2.If the Fins want to be a power team, as its looked like it wants to be since Flores got here - Ballage might be the better option - at the very least - the Fins should find a way to evenly split carries between Drake and Ballage along with who ever is added to the RB depth chart as things move along.

On defense, problems tackling still an issue - but have to keep in mind that is where the team is mostly showcasing their young guys/UDFA's save for a couple spots.

Preston Williams has gone viral. Remember the name. He is one the Fins seem to have gotten right.

One of the many some will refuse to give the front office and coaching staff credit for

Win or lose, good first showing for the Fins in their first pre-season game.

Lots to build off of. Lots to improve. But there is a clear plan of attack on both sides of the ball - its just a matter of working things out in the pre-season.

The starters are expected to play a little more in the second game.

But how is this guy not drafted at least in the 7th round? Blows my mind....

What did the guy do that was so bad that no one would take a chance on this kind of talent?

There were some red flags in his background. He had a misdemeanor charge of harassment and assault in September of 2017. He pleaded guilty to the charge and received a deferred sentence.

A charge of violating a restraining order that was later dropped as part of a plea agreement.

Prior to the draft -- his agent give each NFL scout and CFL scout a 40-page packet of police and court documents.

It all led to him being given draft grades ranging from the 2nd round to the 7th round.

The Dolphins were the team to take a chance on him - he has responded so far.

Given the steps he and his agent took to be transparent in his situation, I don't think there is anything to be concerned about as far as past off-field issues arising out of nowhere. He looks to have put all that crap in the past. And, Williams -- clearly has been putting in the work necessary to make strides on the field.

Again, shit happens in this adventure we know as life.

In other news, Kenyan Drake was seen in a walking boot in todays start to practice. Reports are that he suffered the injury in Tuesdays practice.

Fins beat writers report that while he is in walking boot - the injury is not believed to be structurally damaging.

The extent of the injury - if there even is one - is unknown. It is always possible the team is simply being cautious with him.

One way or another, it will allow the rest of the RBs to showcase their worth.

Ok thanks seems to be a harsh lesson for not being drafted at all. Some guys were smoking weed the day before the draft and were still drafted. I like that he's owned up and hopefully he can mature and play some good ball. Moss was able to overcome things like that....
