Could the silence be any more indicative of what NFL teams think of him right now?
My thoughts on Austin are that if a team signed him to a one year deal, he would suddenly have an injury free year, put up 1000 yards plus, sign a new three year deal, and pull a hamstring as soon as the ink dried
By design? Or dumb luck?
I'll say it again....labels put on players BY MOSTLY fans are funny. As if you guys know something earth shattering here. When you guys get finished, maybe you can debate #1 and #2 receivers.
Fans? I don't think it's just fans. IMO It's GMs that pass on players and everyone else around the game whether professionally or for joy. There is only one way to get rid of a "label" and that is to do the opposite. So if you are a guy like Lee or Murray you most certainly will hear it even more next year if you miss games again. If you play 16 games you will hear it less. I'm not sure there is much controversy in that and I bet if you asked Lee he'd agree.
You know. I still really like Austin too. He really is a good guy. I'd like to see his career not end without ever having another good or at least serviceable year, but at the same time now that he is gone I don't really want to see another 2009 type season for another team either!!!
I just wish they hadn't shuffled the o-line around for Minnesota.
That makes two of us ..... Free was playing the best he has in his career
Ray Edwards looked like Bruce Smith out there
I'll never understand benching a guy on a hot streak ..... even if its for the return of a starter
