That is the reason I don't think we go get a young kid that blocks Alfaro n a couple of years.

You know, he may not be young but I'd be going after McCann at the deadline or in the offseason. He's a FA in the offseason and they have no need for him with Gattis doing well. Offer him a 3 year deal to give Alfaro time to finish the minors and then a year as backup.

I dont think that will happen. Murphy is on a much shorter leash and does not have too much time te get this turned around.

Now that Soto is getting regular ABs he's been hitting a bit better, hits in 3 straight games and batting .364 overall

If he's not going to play then no point in having a young catcher sitting on the pine
