This is a renderer of a Ford GT with Mustang shit added to it to give an idea of what Ford could do. Fact of the matter is Ford is going to have to do something seeing how GM is putting a big time hurt on the higher end Mustangs with the new mid engine Corvette C8.

How is GM putting a hurt on Ford's Mustang? Practically nobody cross shops the two vehicles.

Check out the Mustang and Vette forums. Plenty of Mustang lovers are crossing over.

You are right about the new Corvette being a threat to Ford, especially at it’s price point, which is very consumer-friendly. If someone wanted a Shelby GT500, that will probably end up costing close to $100k, while the new Corvette is around $60k.

Now how much you put into a Mustang, it’s still a secretary’s car. Put the work into a real car.

I actually just watched Ford v Ferrari. Pretty good movie. That Leo Beebe, the higher up guy for Ford was a dick.

For every Corvette that was sold last year in the US, there were 4 Mustangs sold....I highly doubt this new mid-engine one will be much different.

The new Corvette will only be $60000 for this year, and next year it will go up. In fact, it's been reported that the car will be a money loser unless it averages around $80000.

Ford worries little to nothing about Corvette when it comes to the Mustang.

I’m hoping the new electric mustang is a hit. Reservations for it sold out. Recent video of winter testing it looked good.

Chevy doesn't sell stripped down 6 cyl Corvettes.

Chevy does not offer the Corvette to rentals companies at fleet pricing to pump up sales numbers like Ford does with its POS Mustang.

You can fudge the numbers all you want, but you should at least be honest enough to analyze comparable trim levels and performance packages. I would guess that base model sales of Corvette is a much smaller number percentage wise than than that of base model Mustangs

How many American made mass produced mid engine sports cars at this price point were marketed in the US before this new C8 vette? This new vette is the hottest thing since the invention of sliced bread.

I'm a Ford guy but Chevy killed it with this new vette. If Ford can answer the call with their own mid engine sports car at around the same price point it's going to be game on for sure.

That's the whole point.....Ford does not offer a mass production car on par with the Corvette. The Mustang caters to a different crowd, a far more varied crowd, and will make a profit. They don't care one way or another about GM's latest toy.

The Corvette will appeal to Corvette owners, and basically only Corvette owners. The real equals are players like Ferarri, Lamborghini, Porsche....and no matter the great pricing/performance that GM offers on the C8, those Euro supercar makers won't lose a minute's sleep either.

All for drama in the movie.
Word on the street was he was a pretty good dude.
Evidently he was a logistical genius and was loaned out from Ford to help with airlifting supplies for third world countries to fight famine and that kind of shit.

There were a lot of liberties taken in the movie.
Ken Miles was never not allowed to travel or drive. He did not have to win Daytona to get to Le Mans.
