Why??

AD Warde Manuel + Flint water = lifetime contracts for everybody.
Why??
Um....that's just blatantly false. If Michigan beats OSU in 2016, they finish 1st in the division....
Michigan State was undefeated last year if you take away our three losses. This post is full of lame.
If you weren't a shitty poster, you wouldn't suck so bad.
Now it's right.Good time.
The problem is, you're comparing success goals in taking over an extremely healthy OSU program to success goals in taking over a broken Michigan program. Of course Urban was able to do well quickly. Not counting Fickel, Urban took over a program that was already winning 11+ games a year. The guy before him got fired for other things not performance things. It's unreasonable to compare the timelines.
Now it's right.
Except Tressel still took over a healthy program. A bad year or two doesn't mean OSU was an unhealthy program, it means it had a bad year. In just 1998 OSU tied for a share of the B10 title. And in the four years prior to the two seasons mentioned, OSU had 10+ wins each year. Hardly an unhealthy program.A healthy Ohio State program? Tressel got to Columbus in 2001. In 2000 the Buckeyes went 8-4, in '99 they went 6-6. That's not exactly taking over a "healthy" program. I had to throw that in there because you only mentioned Meyer even though I mentioned Meyer, Tressel & Saban.
Also it's funny how you completely ignored the fact I gave you 3 different examples of coaches turning a program around in 3 or 4 years & you only mentioned 1 of them. Jimmy Jam's entering his 4th year. So how many more years will you have excuses? Because excuses are all you have when you want to ignore Yer Coach hasn't done anything of note really. But, but, but he's 1 of the best HC's in all of CFB right?
Now I will ask you again (not that you'll answer me) why is every other CFB coach judged on their actual coaching resume but not Jimmy Jam?

So basically you mentioned Urban and Saban. Arguably two of the best coaches in our lifetime. Urban just continued OSU's dominance. Saban is really the only direct comparison to what Harbaugh walked into at Michigan and Saban is literally the best coach to ever have coached CFB. AKA -- an unreasonable expectation or standard.
I could also probably come up with a number of examples of elite coaches who needed more than 3 years to really get things going. See Dabo at Clemson.
The real problem was they gave Hoke shit for a budget to build his staff. His entire coaching budget was probably around what they're currently paying their DC.But how did Harbaugh take over a bad program? Okay Hoke was a disaster of a HC. But JH took Hoke's players & doubled the win total his 1st year. Your team has never had an issue getting elite players. Don't use the excuse of a bad program when the real problem was Hoke was a bad coach.
The reason I mentioned Meyer & Saban is some meeeechegan fans insist JH is the same caliber of coach (I already said that though). And I'll see your Dabo comment (great call by the way) & raise you a Jimbo Fisher. His 4th year @ FSU he won a Natty. And lost 4, 4, 2 & then 0 games by year # 4.
How important is this year for Harbaugh in your opinion?
Probably as much as they are paying their Passing Coach. But the passing coach is making almost as much as Hoke so...The real problem was they gave Hoke shit for a budget to build his staff. His entire coaching budget was probably around what they're currently paying their DC.
Problem is many Michigan fan here are perfectly content with being a 3 loss team every year, the same thing that had them calling for Carr to be fired and ultimately had the University shove him out the door.Harbaugh needs to deliver this year. Talking playoff appearance.
He needs to bring excitement to the program this year otherwise it will be rough
Brady Hoke made $2.3 million for 2014The real problem was they gave Hoke shit for a budget to build his staff. His entire coaching budget was probably around what they're currently paying their DC.

Good lord. Clearly Hoke wasn't some amazing coach but wow, that's shitty.Brady Hoke made $2.3 million for 2014
Don Brown made $1.3 million for 2017
Pep Hamilton and Tim Drevno made $1.15 million each for 2017.
The "problem" was a lot of things. Michigan had a lot of defensive talent from those Hoke recruiting classes but really didn't have a ton on offense. From 2015-2018 Michigan had 19 players drafted, of those 12 were defensive players. And one of the 7 offensive players taken was Iowa transfer Rudock. Which illustrates the point I'm making -- Hoke was a bad coach, but he was also bad at filling the needs of the team. Michigan has had serious holes on offense since Harbaugh arrived, especially on the line, and while Harbaugh has addressed a lot of that through recruiting, it's still in the process of being fixed; especially considering his first class at Michigan was a wash because he had two weeks to put it together. I think the biggest ding I have on Harbaugh is not being able to have a QB ready last year behind Speight. Peters or McCaffrey should have been ready and they weren't.But how did Harbaugh take over a bad program? Okay Hoke was a disaster of a HC.
