This guy has been great so far. He put tons of pressure on the pocket Sunday and at one point had 2 chances to sack Kaep on one play. He's already shown that he brings a big upgrade to our pocket pressure from last year. I can't wait to see a D line of Clemons, Bennett, McDonald, and Big Red out there with Irvin lined up to rush from the LB spot.

Having Bennett get off to the start that he has and then to have Avril, playing his first game of the year against our biggest rival in what could be the biggest game of the entire season (depending on how each team fares from here on out, of course), make the kind of immediate impact that we had hoped to see from him, against a very good offensive line and an elusive quarterback, already has this year's pass rush looking much better than last year's. That it's looking like that without our two starting defensive ends from last season (with Irvin obviously moving to linebacker this year) is really exciting.

He's been money for us since the preseason and really stepped up and filled the role well while a lot of our Dline depth is nursing injuries and Irvin suspended.

Nice game against the 9ers. Glad to have him out there and should continue to be productive throughout 2013 as we start getting more of our players back.
