22 yard passing TD to Drake - what a great play design and execution there. Great pre-snap read by Tannehill on that one - the Fins got the look they wanted and Tannehill saw it all the way - absolutely no panic or hesitation on that play from anyone on the Fins.
Fins block a FG - Bengals commit an illegal formation so the block stands.
Lets see if the Fins can put together a long scoring drive to take some momentum into the half as they get the ball now with 3:54 to play in the second
3rd and 2 and the Fins elect to pass instead of run and the drive ends. A case of being too aggressive wanting to go for the big play - when the simply play call would get the job done better.
Saw that stat there that the Fins are among the bottom of the league as far as scoring in the last two minutes of either half -- that has to improve immediately.
At least the Fins are able to stop the Bengals on the next drive to make sure they don't get any momentum into the half as they get the opening kickoff in the second half.
Once again, the Fins bring the pressure on the QB but can't finish off the take down for the sack -- gets away from the defense for a TD -- and we have a game now that shouldn't even be one.
And now Tannehill makes a horrible decision that ends in a pick 6 - but the worst decision of all there was to even call a pass play. Gase and the Dolphins offense are doing EXACTLY what they couldn't do at this point in the game which is to get away from the game plan with the lead.
AG is simply never going to learn that going for the big play on every play is going to bite you in the ass at some point.
This would be a classic Fins meltdown. This is the kind of thing they need to happen so that they don't ever play with the lead in this fashion ever again - but with Adam Gase as our coach -- its entirely possible all season long.
