Way too early in the process— but , I will say that the fact that we are going after DCs is a good sign that Burke will surely be gone .

As dolphins beat writer for espn Cameron Wolfe said — fins won’t shy away from first time HCs. This is an approach I prefer over the one most want which is to go for the home run hire of a big name coach . I think going after a first time HC is much of a rebuilding move as would be going after a new QB. This organization needs a young HC that can grow with this organization back to where it belongs .

Gase was a first timer — and offensive minded, as I would prefer our HC to be for Tannehill or even if they decide to go younger at QB. Nothing wrong with a defensive minded HC , I just prefer an offensive minded coach filling an NFL coaching staff this day and age than defensively minded HCs.

Let’s see what other names emerge .

I should say that with Grier getting the promotion to GM — I don’t see this as so much of a rebuild — it’s more of a restructuring. That being said , like I said earlier — depending on who is hired as HC , could request to bring in their own hand-picked choice - so for those that don’t like the Grier promotion, I would say — don’t get too down . I think there is a chance some candidates will request they can pick their guy if they are to take the job .

Vic Fangio is 60 years old — don’t count on me to lobby for him or support him if hired — at 60 he just isn’t the answer whether this organization wants to win now or rebuild . Now , if we hire him as DC then I am ok with it but it can’t be as HC

It's hard to say as experience may be what this team needs. They already had the young hot shot OC with no experience and that didn't go well. Philbum was more of a puppet OC didn't call plays so didn't have a handle on it in Miami. If they hire a defensive minded HC then he needs a good OC to work together... it can be done.

Dan Rizzi added to the list of HC candidates to be interviewed by the Fins .

As I said in a previous thread , he is among the few non-OCs/DCs that I wouldn’t mind us hiring .

Im starting to like the thought of hiring Rizzi. Think they could attract some very good coordinators with how much freedom each will be allowed to have.

The problem is that most will be rookies as you can't hire another teams current OC and DC unless fired. The Fins have had too many rookie coaches in my opinion....time to get a few vets.

Not sure how realistic it is but Bowles at DC, Zac Taylor at OC with Rizzi at HC I think would be a solid staff.

A HC already deeply familiar with the roster can't be a bad thing. I wonder how much input he'd be allowed if hired.

Zac Taylor had his chance here and then was let go — I don’t think he gets a real shot unless the fins intend to keep Tannehill which a lot of people on here seem to be against

Dennis Allen is a name that has emerged as a potential HC candidate

Allen has improved the Saints defense. In addition, he has experience as a head coach. He could be a good choice.

Do you guys really think that they will go QB in the first round? I'd sooner see DE or even CB unless it's a no brainer bbut I've heard QB is weak this year...

Haskins is the clear top QB. He is probably gone before pick 13. The Fins need to decide if it is worth trading up. The other QBs could be a reach. Tua could be the next Mahommes. He will be available next year.

No clear favorite at QB in this draft just yet — so from that standpoint, it would be a mistake to take one here. One could emerge, however.

No reason to take a QB high any way if Tannehill is brought back . DE or CB would be bpa in this particular draft in the first round.

Yeah that's what I was thinking the last thing they need is to reach for a QB and feel like they have to start him. I'd be ok with anything past the first round but would prefer to keep Tanny so we have a chance and don't have to force a rookie into starting. Let him earn it...
