The secondary/defense is not the problem. Never is. It is the offense not doing nearly enough -- virtually nothing. The offense is putting the defense in terrible situations. But none of this surprises me. This is not a surprising end to our season -- and, possibly, playoff chances. I knew that if anything was going to hold this team back it would be the offense/ QB play without Fitzpatrick as an option.
Really sucks that at 10-6 that you’ll possibly be the odd ones out but yet the NFC will have a team that’s 7-9 at best in the playoffs. I still think that most didn’t have you at 10 wins all season so there is at least hope on the horizon I believe, especially since you’ll have two picks in the first round again, the first one likely being the 3rd or 4th pick.

Just a complete collapse by the Dolphins. In other news, the Steelers may save us late.

Ravens and Browns win. Obviously, the Dolphins lost this game when they lost Fitzpatrick as a fallback option. Dolphins playoff fate now lies in Indy losing to Jacksonville which they did earlier in the season.

And now we wait... To see if the Tua-led Dolphins will get yet another helping hand to move forward after absolutely failing to do it themselves.

Chan Gailey is not the problem. The Dolphins altered a lot of the offense to fit Tua -- If he didn't live up to expectations in some areas -- no one else is to blame for it. That said, this is the NFL -- I know that nowadays its about coaches adapting to their roster/qb, but it shouldnt be that way. Coaches must still maintain some say and control of things and have players find a way to fit in or be gone.

Offensively, the Dolphins need to go back to doing things that is beneficial to all involved -- not just the QB. If he cant keep up -- thats on him.

Now, 17-0 Colts. Safe to say Dolphins playoffs hopes are over. Unfortunate to think this might be the way Fitzpatricks' career ends. He did so much to help this team have a chance in the final week. It is truly unfortunate he lost his starting job over absolutely nothing. He deserved better. But... maybe... the team got what it deserved when its all said and done for the season.

Tua is the future at QB for the Fins, not Fitzpatrick. After last week, until he was ruled out, figured same situation may come into play with Fitz coming in and moving O better, but don't think that would have mattered today. For limited highlights I saw, the D secondary gave up some big plays, the second string QB was picking them apart.

Not enough running of the ball today by the Dolphins - the score was a factor but the Bills defense deserves most of the credit here.

Good to see him take ownership over the fact that he was not good enough. He at least has that going for him.

With Fitzpatrick likely to retire, pursuing a QB early should be a no-brainer.

Jags score finally down 20-7 almost towards the end of the first half. Signs of life? Dolphins with a last gasp from their friends in Duval County?

I’m not against taking another QB as you should always have a few especially if Fitz leaves. Hedge your bets as well. But I wouldn’t take one at 3 either late in the first or second max even a little later would be best.

Jax still has life 20-14...and even more importantly Texans losing.

Agree to an extent. If they have a viable option at QB at the 3 spot -- go for it. For the team to make such a move, it would only help them. The Dolphins need the depth, competition, quality and quantity at the position. The team will be lacking in all those areas at the QB position if Fitzpatrick retires.

In other news, the Jags have made it a 6 point game.

One stat that was a problem today, that has been a problem for the Dolphins of late -- whether its been theyve completely struggled in games in this category or gotten of too slow starts: 3rd down conversion. The Dolphins were 3/14 on third down conversion today. That is as much if not more of a problem than the defense giving up 455 yards. The Dolphins were not efficient on offense. We have to be honest and realize this no matter who the QB is -- no QB gets a pass under the circumstances.

No one is giving Tua a pass but you also can't run a rookie QB out of town especially the way this year has went. They have actually done well this season under the circumstances and I expect them to get better as the young guys mature. Allan didn't look to shit hot his first year either so why didn't the bills just toss him away???

Colts now up 14 late in the 4th - delivering a final nail in the Dolphins coffin. Fact is, today has gone the way it was more than likely to go for the Dolphins.

Josh Allen is a different kind of beast. No comparison. Stop.
