First Pirate since Jason Bay's goose egg.

Not a big fan of him being in here I just hope he is done early.

Anyway looking at the history since the 80's of this even only three Pirates ever were in it:
Bonilla '90 - 0 HR's
Bonds '92 - 2 HR's
Bay '05 - 0 HR's

So it won't take much to be the best Pirate ever in this "competition". Use that word loosely since it is all for show.

4 HR's. Yeah it would have been cool to see him win but didn't want to see the drop off as what happen with others after winning.

I am beginning to think that major league baseball is trying to make something out of Hamilton. I had to listen to Linda Kohn(well, I guess I didn't have to) make a care for him being the most popular athlete based solely on the fact that he received a record 11 million votes for the All Star game. How completely ignorant is that arguement, seriously, he got that many votes not because he is wildly popular, he got that many because there just aren't 3 other outfielders in the AL that are better than him, so he was on a lot of ballots. Such an idiotic arguement. He may well be very popular, I don't really know, but basing her arguement on how many votes he got for the AS game was flawed IMO.

When healthy, he's the best player in baseball. Yeah there's the whole drug problem, which draws people in, but let's not forget how great of a player he is.

first time i've seen a pirate game this year.
they just showed hammer in the pen.
he looks chubbier than i remember last year.
maybe that is why he has lost some velocity the last couple weeks.

He's a great player, no doubt, but if they are going to interview people during someone else's ab's, at least include some dialogue about the player.

"Hey Josh, how about this McCutchen kid?"

Or wait for round two, when everyone had a chance to hit.

I agree with that.

I have a story, which doesn't necessarily fit here, but I also don't think it warrants its own thread, so here goes.

My friend's mom saw Neil and Pedro on a golf course somewhere the other day. But they weren't golfing. They were going to the water hazard with fishing poles. :D

I'm glad they're spending their All-Star break well.
