Why doesn't Matt Ryan get the same criticism as Matt Schaub?

Schaub has a career 91.6 qb rating...Ryan has a 91.3

Schaub is 1-1 in the playoffs

Ryan is 1-4 in the playoffs and 1-3 this year while Schaub despite the debacle is still 2-2

When Russel Wilson decided to go all Johnny Football in the second half out of the pocket the Texans defens0e struggled to tackle him. Also when Cushing is injured the defense isn't the same.

It seems that Ryan gets a lot of undue credit for the 22 4th qtr comeback wins. That is more from the media than anything else. They gloss over a lot of those games where he plays like crap for the middle 2 qtrs. Add to that having the luxury of having 2 very good receivers and a HOF tight end and he better make some plays. I will say this though, Ryan has never had an above average defense or a really great RB. His best year he did have a solid running game with him. I can't defend the guy because I've never thought that much of him. He just doesn't impress me a lot.

Schaub, to me has never been all that great but he doesn't need to be great. He was playing really good early in that game j7ust making smart decisions and getting the ball to the playmakers, ( Foster, Johnson, Daniels), but instead one bonehead play and it lets the Hawks steal the game away. I think Kubiak is partially to blame for the predictable play calling but as the general on the field, a guy has to know when to just eat the ball or throw it away.
