Right- Paradis is really the only guy on the OL you could be calling for to be locked up long term, and he hasn’t exactly been healthy.


Leary just got his contract last year. Bolles is in his 2nd year on his rookie contract with 3 years left on his contract after this year. McGovern is a first year starter on his rookie contract too early to give him a long term deal. Veldheer is a vet who we are determining a lot of things about. Most importantly if he is a stop gap or if we can count on him for a few years after.

I'm not saying don't sign Paradis. The Center position though seems to be one of the few on the OL that you can find rookies to replace in the mid-rounds and see them be successful out of the gate. Paradis has been a good player for us but it comes down to making sure to keep the cap under control. This 2018 draft class though should make things a bit easier as they should be able to move on from guys like DT, one of Marshall/Davis, and possibly could move on from Darian Stewart. That would open up quite a bit of cap money to then invest in Paradis, Roby, and others.
