Im not sure how much it would cost and Im definitely not one to support big spending at RB but if he comes cheap he could be a great pickup. Really good consistent running back and pass catcher. (The Bears apparently arent bringing him back).

If Forte signs with anyone else it will either be for as much money as he can get, or for a true SB contender to go after a ring before he hangs it up. I can't see the skins getting him on the cheap.

No but I dont think it hurts to have 2 capable backs. Especially since we dont really know if Jones can be a good lead back or not.

wonder if Arian Foster would be cheaper. I think they have about the same productivity left and I think he is gone from Houston

Are you implying we aren't a real SB contender?

I'd definitely sign foster on the cheap, he's great when healthy. Problem is he's coming off a torn achilles so all else equal I'd rather have Forte. But you're right that hes gonna be cheaper if available.

Question is does he and what other offers might he have from possible contenders. If NE, Seattle, or Carolina were in the mix. But he may well want to cash in before he checks out in which case no one is getting him on the cheap.

Since it appears that he will want a big paycheck then I would say No Thanks. The Redskins don't exactly have a good track record with aging RBs. You can always find a good, young RB for a cheaper price. This type of move makes more sense for a team like NE who basically only need a piece or two like this to complete their team.

No to both, again the old and failed way of doing business. With that said Forte still has something left, he's been a really good player. Arian Foster has about as much left as OJ Simpson.

While I like both RBs, both are too injury-prone and I don't know Af's situation, but I've read Forte wants to be paid like a boss.

I just heard Forte wants 4 mil per season. I know he is old but he only had one injury plagued season. P. Thomas is going to want at least 2-3 million so If we can get Forte for 4 million its not a big deal. Forte will have way more production than P. Thomas and C. Thompson for that matter.

Plus if you are the Cowboys who are in win now mode with Romo how can you pass on Forte?

Pierre Thomas was on the street, then made a nice contribution when picked up in mid-season. Not a chance in Hell he is getting close to 2-3 mil/year. Regarding Forte every GM, and fantasy football players for that matter, understand the dangers of 30 year old RBs. The end comes quick, fast and in a hurry.

The reason why Thomas was on the street is b/c he wanted 2 mil per season. My point is that Forte is better than Thompson and Thomas combined so I would grab him for 4 mil per season. Plus it would take him away from the Cowboys. We should look into Forte. 4 mil is fair for his production. I know he was hurt last year but so he ahs been durable throughout his career being the bell cow back. He would work perfectly with Jones.

How so? Itd be a cheap contract, if we did it.

I absolutely wouldn't spend big $ on him but I assume there's a price where he'd be worth it. That said if you all are right that he wants big $$ than we probably shouldn't be interested.
