Packers travel to the West Coast to face the 49ers in the NFC Championship game. Should I start working on the GB eulogy? Perhaps a national monument ala Little Bighorn? Does the Ghost of Starr guide the Pack to victory?

Vote and be heard.

49ers win 34-24. Pack get some garbage-time points to make it look respectable.

The 49ers looked relatively flawless against the Vikes.
Their O-Line and D-line looked pretty phenomenal.
Jimmy G was more than adequate. Rotation of running backs works well for them. Kittle is a freak.

I think it's going to be one of those games where SF gets out front early and though GB will remain in the game, they'll never quite catch up. I think SF will win, but closer than many seem to think it will be.

This is the NFL and San Francisco, so anything can happen... ...like Jimmy G catching the AIDS... ...Kittle crushing a beer can with his forehead and a can fragment getting lodged in his skull... ...Bosa steps on a syringe and gets an infection...

Against Seattle, the Packers were a team that relied on big pass plays to their #1 WR. We've seen Arizona get to the Super Bowl that way. We've seen Carolina (back when they had Steve Smith) run into a buzzsaw. I think the Packers are going to be the latter if they can't run the football.

I don't think they can beat the Niners just by making timely passes to Adams.

Niners are #2 in pass rush and #2 in short yardage run defense with their dline. Packers have to be getting chunk yardage on 1st down or they're toast. We're talking about coaching and we're talking about toughness. I'm not sure GB has the advantages in those areas.

I'm diabetic, so no potato salad for me, but I will have the brats.

Seriously, SF but not by a blowout.

The 9ers are a great team and the Packers are a good team and it's the NFL and the playoffs and we see good teams beat great teams all the time. Weird and unexpected things happen much like the Texans and Chiefs game and that's why you still play the game on Sunday.

On paper at least I gotta say it's not looking good for the Packers.

The 9ers throttled the Packers week 12 and that's when the Packers were coming off a bye week. 9ers didn't have Joe Staley, Dee Ford, Kwon Alexander, Robbie Gould, and Matt Breida. George Kittle played but he was a bit gimpy with his knee and ankle and Deeboo Samuel and Emmanuel Sanders were banged up as well.

They are missing D.J Jones who had a really good game in the middle but overall they are a lot more healthier and rested than they were in week 12.

Still I expect it to be a closer score than it was week 12 but I haven't seen anything from the Packers since that first game to suggest the outcome will be drastically different.

I think Green Bay would need an out of this world performance or a lot of mistakes from the 9ers to win.
