I think you need to be in the driver's seat for the next Hoop Mock draft. As Limas Smith-Schuster would say, it's gon' be LIT!

Landry, was just another meh backup, but I hated the idea of Dobbs.
Don't ever give me another "running QB" on the Steelers as long as I live and I will be happy.

I definitely agree that he is still a good QB, a top 10 QB in this league and will go down as one of the best all-time. But I can't help but look at games like Chicago and Jacksonville from two years ago (not the playoff game) and Denver from last year and I see a guy who's just trying to throw the ball where he thinks he can, not where he KNOWS he can. Some of that is the evolution of the sport and the evolution of the players playing DB, but some of that is also poor decision making by our QB. Ben will always be a HoF QB, he will also always be, in my opinion, the best QB in franchise history, but it's also okay to admit that he is nowhere near the same QB that he was before the injuries. Maybe a shell of his former self is too dramatic but he's nowhere near what he was and that's a small part of the decline of this team in the last 3-4 years.

Has-been is a little too far and, honestly, probably is calling him a shell of what he used to be. But, is Ben the same QB that he was before the injuries started? If the answer is no, then everything I've said is still the same. He's not as good as he used to be and along with that, the coaching staff hasn't improved, we haven't gotten better at drafting first round talent, we are JUST starting to get better in the trade and free agent market. The window of winning was 2-3-4 years ago, that window has passed us now and so have most other teams in the AFC. I think it's time we all accept that, unfortunately.

I don't mind a "running QB" but by "running" I mean being being able to rush out of the pocket when need be. I don't think a guy like Kyler Murray or Lamar Jackson would fit here. I have confidence in Mason Rudolph from the little we saw on Sunday. Only time will tell.

Ben was just as good as he ever was up to this point. Beyond this point is anyone's guess.

You're saying that the Ben that played in 2007, 2009, 2011, would make the mistakes he's made the last 2-3 years? Because I don't think that's true. Yes, he's always thrown INTs, but not at this rate.

There are a lot of variables involved. It's not the same game/game plan now that it was in 2007-11.

Ben hasn't adapted very well to the changes while other QBs have. That's my point. The game has changed, the DB position has evolved while Ben seems to have not.

And my point is you are wrong. Plainly and clearly.

He's adapted well enough to be in the conversation as a top 5 quarterback in the NFL over the last 3-5 years despite enduring some of the worst coaching and play-calling of his career. Some day you'll look back on these years and wish you appreciated him more and enjoyed watching him play more than you did.

Wouldn't it have been a little tough for BigBen to turn into a pass-happy QB when the Steelers have usually been a run dominant team?

If Rudolph doesn’t work out, the Steelers MUST sign Colin Kaepernick. Give it 2-3 games. Even if they win, if Rudolph doesn’t set the world on fire, there’s no reason not to bring Kaepernick in.

I'd like to know the list of current back up's that have won 4 playoff games. Kaepernick's only 28-30 as a starter. But I'd bet alotta money that's more wins than most (or maybe any other) back up in the league right now. And no mentioning Eli!:D

I would appreciate if we don't the whole "you're wrong" thing. We have differing opinions, neither one of us can be wrong.

I appreciate him enough to say that he is the best QB in our franchise history. All I'm saying is, it's obvious, in my opinion, that his best years are behind him and have been for a few years now.
