The Rangers have placed reliever Koji Uehara on the disabled list, as expected, but in advance of tomorrow's anticipated purchase of righthander Justin Grimm to make the Saturday start, outfielder Leonys Martin has been recalled from AAA Round Rock. The reason: Josh Hamilton has reportedly been hospitalized with an intestinal virus.

Martin starts in center field tonight, batting ninth.

It will be interesting to see whose roster spot is surrendered tomorrow to Grimm. Reliever Yoshinori Tateyama would seem like a good bet.

No Hamilton sucks, but at least we get to see Martin, and it's against the Astros.

Martin appeared to have some sort of hitch or just a plain weird looking swing to me. I don't think that is very promising. Going to give the kid a shot though and hopefully he exceeds all of our expectations. After all, he was tearing it up in AAA.

He is tearing it up in AAA, and he smoked a line drive to first base for an our last night. He has a smooth swing and I hope to see him get a few hits this weekend.
