I think Buehrle is 1st ballot HOF kind of guy. Here are some of my favorite moments in Buehrle's career:

1) The Perfect Game
2) The relentless fast rhythm of his pitches
3) Fielding the ball between his legs and glove flipping it to 1st base for the out.
4) Belly sliding across the wet tarpaulin during a rain delay.

Buehrle will always be remembered for his two no-hitters, including the one perfect game. And he was an iron man out there on the mound, especially by today's standards. Plus, there may not have been a pitcher in modern history with a quicker time between pitches than Mark, altho Jim Kaat would have given him a run for his money. Not sure tho he's even a HOFer, let alone a 1st ballot. Doesn't mean I won't congratulate him or be happy for him if he makes it. Which is the same way I felt about Harold Baines. But I'm just not sure I'd cast a ballot for Mark if I was able to vote.

3283.1 innings pitched and only 1,870 K's. He never won 20 games in any single season. And lost at least 10 games 10 times in 16 years.

The only player in MLB history to throw multiple no hitters and win multiple golden gloves.

i'm going to assume you are being facetious. while he had some interesting moments he has not had anything like a hof career. baseball reference sums it up thusly:

Black Ink
Pitching - 12 (201), Average HOFer ≈ 40
Gray Ink
Pitching - 116 (179), Average HOFer ≈ 185
Hall of Fame Monitor
Pitching - 52 (267), Likely HOFer ≈ 100
Hall of Fame Standards
Pitching - 31 (148), Average HOFer ≈ 50

he was a good pitcher who lasted a long time ... and he pitched for the sox. that does NOT make him a hof'r! so don't hold your breath. :)

Hey that's cool. It was just his innings pitched and K's stat kinda jumped out at me. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets in. Wasn't he also on the '05 (?) W.S. team?

Yes he was the ace of that staff - and he was an excellent control - ground ball pitcher. He is inspirational because he didn't have the classic over powering KO pitch selection. His W/L record has more to do with pitching for the Sox than the merit of his pitching.

cause yeah ... pitcher's gold gloves are so important to his qualifications for the hall. :)
When you are the only one in history - shouldn't that be commemorated? Come On - Iddy - you love Beuhrle just like every red blooded Sox fan.

there's always hope.
i know of a hall of fame pitcher whose 162 game average was 14-13 (which is 576th place all time) for teams that had as many finishes over .500 as under and who lead the league in walks 8 times.

Nobody mentioned he was the best rain delay tarp slider in MLB history yet?

P'shaw...It's like you guys don't even know what makes a HOF'er truly famous...

Beuhrle faced the minimum 27 batters twice - once for his perfect game and the other time his no hitter included a walked batter that the picked off 1st base.

5 time all star
4 time gold glove

Perhaps the best pickoff move of his pitching generation.

long career with a life time era 3.81

I'd have to say my favorite White Sox pitcher other than Buehrle was Gary Peters.

that would be steve carlton.
There's a great pitcher, but we would maybe debate which generation he belongs in. I remember he won 20 games for a phillies team that lost 100.

one of my fav's as well.
Gary Peters maybe the best hitting White Sox pitcher of all time - -as well. I remember a game - where Gary Peters was pitching and was moved to first base for a reliever - then went back on the mound and finished the game.
