Series Thread: Mariners @ Yankees: 5/6 - 5/9

Four game series against the Yankees in the Bronx.

Suppose we probably have them at a good time since many of their key players will be on the injured list (going to take a while for me to switch from calling it the DL to the IL).

Since its the Mariners they will probably sweep the yankees and score 75 points combined just to get the fans going again, only to fall flat on their faces like usual right after.

Looks like they have already fallen on their faces. Felix is serving up just what the Yanks want and they're just teeing off on him. 6-0 yanks so far into the second inning.

And of course Servais is just standing there with that constipated look on his face.

They're usually bottom 10 in all other stats.

I honestly had no idea the game started at 3:30 PT yesterday. Figured normal 4:05 start, thats how uni nvested I feel right now. Regardless by the time I tuned in it was like 3 or 4 to 0 so I just decided to do yard work. I just cant garner any kind of interest in watching this product until some younger guys come up.

Day games I generally leave on as background noise while I work.

Considering how much time I waste shooting the shit with ya'll, it should be obvious I love the Mariners, but you're right that it's hard to be all that invested in a team like this.

Also doesn't help when baseball is one of the slowest sports to watch and when they play 162 regular season games, it's hard to be invested in every single game.

Just saw the 9th. All I have to say is it blows my mind how awful Servais. I mean pitching Swarzak in the 9th, how many times does that have to fail for him to get it.
Oh and I’m glad they called up Bishop to ride the bench. Not to mention he’s the best defensive OF on the team and he isn’t even on the field in the 9th when the team is trying to protect the lead. Instead we get Jay Bruce in the OF trying to prevent the winning run from scoring. I’m not claiming to be an expert but this is stuff a little league manager can figure out. This franchise just is not only ok but with mediocrity as a manager but they rewarded with an extension. Sorry rant over

I am so tired of bitching about Servais. Dipoto not shit-canning Servais tells me a lot about Dipoto and his lack of ability to assess talent. Any dumb ass can see that Servais is a fucking waste of oxygen and I can't imagine he has much, if any, respect from team members who know ANYTHING about baseball. What a friggin joke. When the pressure's on, he's gets that "constipated" look on his face and just can't pull his finger out and make "smart" decision.
