So, is Kelenic a bust, or what? So much talent, on display all through every level of the minor leagues. But, is he too intense for his own good? Does MLB intimidate him too much? Jimmy Piersall syndrome? If this kid does not learn to relax, he can kiss his career goodbye.

I think we picked up Ford to play 1B on this road trip when we go to Toronto because France isn't vaccinated...

I'm not ready to call Kelenic a bust yet, but he is trending in that direction. That said he's only 22 which is very young in baseball terms and he still has hardly any experience above single A. He can still develop the potential that made him a top 10 prospect, honestly my biggest concern isn't with Kelenic, it's that I don't believe the Mariners have coaching in their system good enough to get him to reach his potential.

Where is should have been all year waiting for his chance to prove himself after Mariners sign real free agent hitter in offseason.

Seattle second baseman/outfielder Adam Frazier won his salary arbitration case on Friday.

Frazier was awarded $8 million rather the Mariners' $6.7 million offer by the panel of Margaret Brogan, Frederic Horowitz and Brian Keller, who heard the case on May 2.

"Excitement, for sure," said Frazier, who listened to the four-hour Zoom session when Major League Baseball and the Mariners argued against Frazier's representative and the players' association. "My agent and the PA did a great job presenting the case. Obviously I'm going to make money either way."

I only saw from the 4th inning on ... but that was one hell of a pitching performance by Gonzalez - Sewald and Steckenrider.

Just enough offense to gitt'r done.

I bet the Mariners are the only team in the league with a clean-up guy hitting .203 and strikes out every other at bat ( 3 K's tonite with 4 at bats )

RIP J. Kelenic - at least they saved him the embarrassment of having his .140 avg prominently displayed on the jumbo-tron for all of NY to laugh at.

Certainly did enough to win thanks to the pitching but still batting a putrid .230 and sub .700 OPS. Let’s just hope they warm up once weather does so as well.

It isn’t coaching that he needs. He needs a strong veteran leader which the Mariners do not have at the moment and for sure he needs Servais to back him the way he did JRod.

Jrod struggled early on, but his approach was solid.

Kelenic is lost. Again.

He came back up last year after going down and found a little success. Going down can help take some pressure off and get his head straight.

If Jrod ends up in a similar place I would expect him to get sent down as well. Right now that isn't what is best for him. Going down is for sure what is best for Kelenic.
