Same guy is trying to show that he is far behind both Wilson and Wisdom at Tacoma and we see what they have done therefor Arroyo doesn't look like the answer. But if you use the logic all around, then Young and Colt should never have been called up either and no other minor leaguer deserves to be called up.
Yeah it is weird. Like he’s “struggled” the past two weeks but I don’t think anyone was expecting him to hit .400, let alone it seems like they are more concentrating on him playing other positions. It seems more his time in Tacoma is like another spring training.
I think it was a ridiculous argument. Young and Colt weren't as good in Tacoma as Wilson and Wisdom. Few have been, but I don't think that is the measuring stick. Those two are vets playing down which makes the league easier for them. Youngsters are trying to figure it out one level at a time. That doesn't mean they are not deserving of the promotion. They are on the assent hopefully not the descent like vets that are AAAA players.
Thing with Wisdom and Wilson is no one, not even the most anti Arroyo people can say his ceiling isn’t better. Worst scenario in most of his AB’s will be a soft ball hit in play. Most case scenario with both of them is a strikeout. Anyone arguing for Wisdom or Wilson over Arroyo better be arguing Laz over both as well.
In a way this is kind of a bad thing. If he keeps this up we can kiss the FO upgrading 3B this offseason cause they won’t want to block him for next year.
