News that some people weren't aware of ... I know I wasn't aware of it, I knew we had a drought going but didn't realize it was the longest drought in pro sports right now... Hard to believe it was Ichiro's rookie season the last time the M's made the playoffs...

It is actually really impressive. It is really a statistical impossibility that a franchise with its wealth, fan base and appeal to foreign markets hasn’t made the playoffs in a non salary cap sport.

What’s even more impressive is that they haven’t had a home grown position player start an all star game since Alex Rodriguez or if you count Ichiro.
