As Mike McCarthy’s time in Green Bay came to a close this season, rumors grew of increased tension between the former head coach and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The once seemingly perfect duo — who reached the playoffs eight times together and won a Super Bowl — reportedly started butting heads this season as the Packers struggled. Rodgers even apparently started calling his own plays on the field, completely ignoring McCarthy’s play calls at times.

Funny. Who do we believe? Rodgers and McCarthy both stated there was no tension between them. Well, as we witnessed after the release of MM there is more issues going on with this team then the QB and HC conflict.

McCarthy and Rodgers had been together so long that the coach-QB relationship became dysfunctional with regards to how the team is SUPPOSED to be run. McCarthy let Rodgers do his thing, but that also meant approved insubordination which eventually caused McCarthy to lose his entire locker room.

What Rodgers really needs is a hard ass head coach who is going to bitch slap his ego and pull back down to the rest of the team's level, but Rodgers has been the king for so long now that such an ego check will probably divide the locker room out of the gate.

I have a bad feeling that 35-year-old Rodgers & Packers is on the same trajectory as 35-year-old Starr & Packers. The 2020's Packers current outlook looks eerily familiar to the 1970's Packers.

Well, you know what they say....History repeats itself. For what its worth, Dion Sanders said Rodgers will win another championship but not with the Packers.

GB needs 2010 Rodgers back. I think you're right, they need a HC that will not just bitch slap his ego but hopefully have him and the rest of the team hungry again to pursue another title.
