Explains his poor play during and following the Chargers game but it doesn't explain his propensity to throw ducks as games wore on against the Rams, NE, Chiefs and Buffalo weeks before the injury happened.

Give Manning his due- GREAT (possibly GOAT) QB but it appears that age/injuries look to have caught up. It happens to all athletes.

Maybe he always has a torn quad in the playoffs.

it's not his thigh ..it's his hip. He dislocated it on his way to the early bird special.

We never heard anything about this injury bc Peyton is a true warrior and never complains. He wanted to play through this and is using nothing as an excuse. But he wasn't making throws he makes in his sleep and that was obvious. Hope he recovers and comes back, but injuries and age seems to catching up to even the great Peyton.

Bum leg

Every time he tried to throw deep it caused lots of pain

He probably should not have played.

My only issue is that Peyton/Doctors actively tried to suppress the injury report.

I know guys like Peyton/Brady/Brees/Rodgers type veteran have to be dragged from the field.

But, I think he hurt his team by playing with a hidden injury.

The team doctor owes responsibility to the Broncos....not Peyton.

If you go back and watch the game, you can see him grimace in a lot of pain each time.

I am surprised the CBS guys didn't pick it up.

I didn't really understand why they kept trying to go deep, especially if he has that injury. Yes, by throwing it you hide the injury, but if it was not going to be effective, you're not extending drives. When he's healthy, of course, you have to throw it deep and take your chances. But I felt that was one of the reasons why they lost, the play calling, not the injury per se. But the injury made the play calling worse. Extend drives, burn some clock, get some touchdowns. Manning was capable of all that but they had to try to take advantage of the defense when he couldn't complete them. And then, if they are down after all that, trust that he can come up with some deeper passes against defense who knows you're throwing deep. He's earned that, just not sure whether he could do it with the injury.

What injury did he have in the previous 8 one-and-dones? How about the 43-8 pounding in the Super Bowl?

Please, guys play hurt all the time. On the overthrows they keep showing the receivers were well covered. Indy played a great game and would've won regardless.

Defense wins championships-itis

Sadly I think we were robbed of a classic game if Peyton was healthy because the Colts definitely had a good gameplan and were executing well

since that San Diego game, he's looked like shit. The offense sputtered. I had Sanders in FF, and at that point, his numbers went down.

When Manning came back from that neck injury/layoff, his passes have wobbled. Also as the season progressed, he seemed to lose zip.

This year, it was much worse after that leg injury. Combine the leg with the fluttering, and it was not good.

Something had to have been wrong with him... You don't see him missing receivers as badly as he did on Saturday.

Wish him a speedy recovery and to see him next year!

Ouch. That's gotta hurt. Nothing worse than a damaged rectus.

While Manning does typically gag it in the playoffs this was definitely something different. Just last year he and Denver broke how many offensive records?

I never knew Manning swung that way..."Not that there's anything wrong with that"...
