On the 37th anniversary of the release of the film "Major League" (1989), how do you rate this film?

"The new owner of the Cleveland Indians, former showgirl Rachel Phelps (Margaret Whitton), has a sweetheart deal to move the team to Miami. But to break the lease with the city of Cleveland, ticket sales have to plummet. So Phelps hires the most incompetent players available, including near-blind pitcher Rick Vaughn (Charlie Sheen) and injury-prone catcher Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger). But her villainous tactics accidentally foster a can-do team spirit, turning the Indians into potential winners."

Great movie. Pretty high up on my baseball movie rankings. My list..

1. Field of Dreams
2. Eight Men Out
3. Bull Durham
4. The Natural
5. Major League
6. Bad New Bears
7. Moneyball
8. 42
9. Everybody Wants Some
10. Pride of the Yankees
Good list. I think I would drop Eight Men out to 5 and move the others up a notch, though.

I am a wee bit old for it, but the Sandlot is a “classic” that probably deserves to be on this list, though. Not certain where.

Others for consideration…

The Fan
Stealing Home
Never Been Kissed
For Love of the Game
The Rookie

Though, to be fair, not sure any of these would break the 10 you listed, or Sandlot.

I've never watched The Sandlot. I really need to but I never got around to it.

Further, it looks like only Charlie Sheen and Kevin Costner know anything about making baseball movies. Maybe Wesley Snipes?

How many shots do we get of Wesley Snipes throwing a baseball?

Great athlete.
Good martial artist.
Not so much of a baseball and basketball player.
