Me too. I have family down in NC that are huge cane fans. And after what the Canes did to us a few years ago, I've hated them just as much as the Rangers and Flyers.

I feel the same exact way. Carolina is DEFINITELY up there with the Flyers and the Rangers.

Florida plays the Devils tough. If they faceoff, it won't be easy.
Their offense struggles, but defensively they are pretty decent and their power play last I checked was up there in the league.

Florida's goaltenders don't scare me. In theory we should win the goaltending matchup. Defensively I think they are better. Offensively if we play to our capabilities I think we are far better up front.

Actual Expectations? Probably 01 even though we didnt win it again we got there and defended the cup as much as you can without repeating.

03- exceeded expectations (won cup)
04- flame-out
06- got spanked and exposed
07- choked against an ottawa team we should've handled
08- lost to the rags 3 times at the rock- need I say more?
09- referenced above
10- saw that coming a mile away

If its Florida, it won't be easy. But I do believe this team is different than the past couple years. Not counting yesterday, the offense has been inconsistent. On paper, this team should score, a lot. If this team has trouble putting the puck in the net in the playoffs, they won't get far. Offense should be this teams strength.

Also, special teams play will be huge. The Panthers have a good power play and Devils counter with a great penalty kill. But I think key will be staying out of the box. Special teams play will be the deciding factor I think if these teams match up since 5 on 5 will most likely be a chess match.

1 thing I do like is Florida has a -20 goal differential, the worst of all potential playoff teams.
